Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
My Google news is warning that this increase will take many of us into the tax 'area' and that we should set money aside for that.

Not for those on the old pension it won't. I can't understand why people born before 1951 are on a lesser pension than those born after 1951. Do the older ones need less money to live on? I don't think so. It's a bloody disgrace.

Do you ever get failures when making bread ??
A regular 'problem' I have is the the loaf seems to rise less at one end ie it is slightly wedge shaped. All edible but not evenly shaped. I think it may be the machine.
I read t'other day to try a drop more water so I did that this morning. I will report back.

The winter fuel allowance is not taxable.

However, if you are talking about the increase in state pension, due April, then, yes, agreed, many pensioners will breach the personal allowance. Increased interest rates on savings will add to the “problem”.

Yeah I get failures when I don't add the yeast  or if the flour is getting old you only get the latter if you buy the flour in large amounts.
adding less water will/may give you a dry loaf.

I used to have a morphy Richards bread maker and that was very hit and miss in fact most times I used it the bread was a disaster.

But I now have a Panasonic bread maker and touch wood so far I have never had a bad loaf of bread.
