I feel bad
I got a phone call from someone this morning

It was Daisy
funny how Daisy seems to be such a common name among people from the Indian Sub Continent
but who am I to judge

anyway - she works for Virgin Media
and was very worried about problems they have detected with my broadband

we had a nice conversation about how I was and how she was
then she explained how they had - verty worryingly detected some problems with my system
and how this might explain how my broadband was sometimes slower than usual
she asked - very nicely - if I had noticed this
I really hadn't but - you know I'm getting on a bit so I might not know about these things

anyway - she asked about how many devices I had connected - maybe my TV
which I agreed with - it has a yellow wire going into that back of it

she asked about laptops and mobile phones

I explained that I won;t have them in the house becsaue they are evil

there was a pause
she asked again abotu the slow speed and I said I had noticed that people do speak slowly on some programmes

she asked if I was watching these on a laptop

so I explained again how I don;t have these in the house because they are evil

she asked if other people had problems in the house

I told her that it is only me because....

then she got cut off for some reason


I am upset

I never got to explain about the witches




should I log this on Drago's advise column??


maybe she will ring back


I want to talk to Daisy again

I have thought of more stories for her



For F***s sake don;t talk to a retired system administrator about "problems on the broadband" when he is bored

Dragons will ensue

and maybe witches

please ring back Daisy

especially before my wife gets up and I am bored with morning TV

A rare late night for us last night. A trip to Wimborne to see Chris McCausland at the Tivoli theatre. It was a full house, with a second night hastily arranged which also sold out. An excellent performance with some of his anecdotes having me in tears of laughter 😁😂.
We had a drink in the Tap House after the show before taking the bus home to finally fall into bed after midnight 😮

Morning all

Greenhouse stuff to do this morning. Planting bean, carrot & tomato seeds ready for the coming season. My chilli seedlings are coming on nicely. Garlic and onions doing well in the garden.
Off out to the White Horse at lunchtime.

Nearly 5 mile wander done with a bit of a hill. Not sure that path was a good idea as it was pretty mucky with the amount of rain we've had.

Can't decide if I want porridge or bran flakes this morning.

Good morning all.
It's still raining, not heavily but it's still there.
All the usual indoors stuff to do today, I might start a jigsaw puzzle, I have two waiting to be done.

Had a lie in this morning......it was nearly 0800.
Builders arrived 08.30 to finish the paths.....all looking nice. I asked them to price a new patio as I want it bigger and nicer so as to get the best out of this summer.
Re Daisy......if she phones again will you give her my number as some female company would be nice. I have my bank details written down for her.

My grandson was helping his Dad fit some fence panels yesterday and got his hand trapped. We wrapped it in ice etc but this morning he messaged me from the hospital.
He is far from being a whimp, quite tough really so I guess something is broken.
