Good morning,
It's not raining! ( until about 11:00 ) Must get out for a jog/walk before it arrives. Daughter and granddaughter are visiting so I will make their favourite, Macaroni cheese.

I just did my riverside trail walk this morning and jogged a couple of miles of it. Nobody else around.....just the way I like it.

A bit early for breakfast yet so a browse and a mug of decaf will do.

Morning all :hello:

The bike show was excellent and huge!
Lot of the 'classic bikes' seem to be the stuff I rode back in the 70s. Time moves on, I suppose.
I impressed MrsD by not spending a penny on the credit card at the show; however, I saw a couple of things there that I knew I could get cheaper online - so I ordered them when I got home.

Morning. It’s minus 2 but dry. I’ll get out soon for my early wander. Sunday mornings are about the only time you get a bit of peace and quiet, but I’ve noticed that it’s not as good as it used to be. You used to get a couple of hours before you saw any traffic but there’s often quite a bit even around 6am now. Do people not have a long lie on Sundays any more? Bloody pests!

Same here, since the pandemic the paths around here are now completely mobbed on Sundays. Part of me tells me that it’s a good thing that more people are out and about enjoying the countryside. But the rest of me wishes they weren’t !

Up early - even though I didn;t want - but had been awakeish for ages so gave up

watched Stage 1 of the UAE tour and the Sky box helpfully saved some energy by only recording until they reached 8 km to go then stopping!!
:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:
Honestly????
I mean - you literally have a direct connection to the actual recording of the actual race plus you have a connection to the actual broadcaster and you can't cater for the programme finishing a few minutes later than the published time????
pathetic

anyway - Virgin did the same so I guess I just have to put up with it

anyway (again) took the grand-daughter climbing yesterday and she is doing brilliantly
she doesn;t want any structured lessons or anything but is just playing - but she is trying things every week that she would not have been capable of a few weeks before

AT a tea break she was talking about SATS - yup she is in Year 6 - and it looks like the school is starting to make them aware of the upcoming exams
she is a real panicer at time
hence she has a tendancy to worry and try to do things too facst and/or not be able to think

so I have printed off last year's paper and had a look

I can see where she would go wrong as I would have - initially - got a few wrong myself
not because I can;t do them (!) but because I didn;t read the damn thing properly and was not concentrating

we will have to have a talk about how to gently talk her through things and make it so that it all seems like something normal and not something to worry about

Her Dad is exactly the wrong person to do this - he never had exam worries and just says to get on with it
to be fair - I was like that - but I used to be a teacher so I have seen kids panic and fail

anyway - a task for next week maybe!
