Just back from my wander. I went up the hill trail in the hope of getting above the mist but no luck.

Dry but very windy and grey.

No Ernie wins for us because we got rid some time back - we do much better elsewhere eg Ford Money FRB gives us 6.2% Cumberland BS ISA 5.2% etc.

Had 30 mile ride planned but sod that in this wind - will do treadmill & multi-gym in lieu of and ride Saturday.

Can't ride tomorrow as we will be scurryfunging getting the house ready for S-I-L one week visit from tomorrow pm.

She is a nice girl so it will be good to have her here but I always feel like my space is invaded when we have visitors.

Anyone else feel like this?

Indeed. I dislike having visitors stay, and, I dislike staying with someone else as a visitor.

In both situations I have a feeling of being “on duty”, and a need to be on my best behaviour. The latter I find particularly irksome 😊

The bank has cancelled my appointment because their printer is not working. Instead, I will pop into the cheesecake factory in Nottingham and take it to the hospital hotel to share with a great bunch of staff who really looked after me for the 52 days I stayed there.

I/we have been fortunate in that I have a full 'granny flat' built on so that is the visitors space. Plus we have a nice conservatory which serves as a meeting place.
Now......in a few weeks it's my granddaughters 21st and my daughter has rented a house for the whole family to stay in.........I am honestly not looking forward to it. I like my own bog as and when I need it.

My old neighbours are coming up on Sunday. They are not actually staying with me, but will pop in a few times and we will no doubt go for walks and eat out a couple of times. That is about the limit of my socialising these days.

I have got so used to being on my own that I hate anyone in the house now……and so does Molly. She just runs away and hides under the duvet until they are gone.

Just popped along to Aldi for a few things. The mist has now lifted and the sun is out and it’s really quite warm.

Does that mean my holiday plans have gone out of the window ?

Have cleaned the house and given the car its annual wash. The murk has lifted a little but its still not warm, 12° with a brisk NEasterly. The joys of living on the east coast.
And in other news, I’ve discovered that MrsFoE’s trip to the optician’s yesterday resulted in a spend of over £1000 ! She’s ordered new normal glasses and a pair of prescription Oakleys…

Haha..... I had a pair of prescription Okleys....tinted.
Fell off my kayak and that was the last I saw of them.
Tell your lady not to go kayaking when wearing them
