That was a fun day...not. A day to remove leaking power shower pump and I found out pump leaks even when not running and 2 of the isolation valves also leak when in off position so getting pump out was relatively easy, stopping the water wasn't! I ended up having to turn off main stopcock to house and drain hotwater tank and cold water gravity tank in attic to ensure no flow/drips. Pump is 25 years old so in fairness has done well but of course now way obsolete. Trying to source a replacement is next challenge as it needs to not only be correct on flow output etc but also physical size. Given the supply pipework is of course copper cut to right position I need to source a pump which fits.
Current status is household back on water supply etc so family happy, fortunately have 2 other showers plus bath which can be used.
The saga will continue tomorrow.

The joys of house ownership.

The rain only lasted about 2 minutes, just enough to dampen the ground.
I've been catching up with a few programmes on the iplayer as there is a lot of cobblers on TV tonight.
I'm currently catching up with a couple of stories on R4.
I cooked a chicken, with home made oven chops and a salad for tea tonight, we've now got plenty of left over pork and chicken in various guises to last us for the rest of the week.

Good morning all.
A sunny start to the day here. The bedding is in the washing machine, it really needed doing.
Sainsbury's are delivering the weekly goodies between 9.30 and 10.30 of the AM clock.
Millie is going to the Vets. for regular bloods, another £300 odd, but at least we get most back from the insurance.

Why do you choose to have your groceries delivered rather than going to the shops?

The local ish Sainsbury's is pretty poorly laid out. As you come out of the front doors it's on a slope so a full trolley runs away with you. Out of three lifts up to the carpark there is normally only one working, there was a double travelator when it was first built in 1983, but that soon broke down, and the carpark is a mess.
There are now only 4 manned checkouts with two areas of self checkouts, one for small baskets the other for trolleys.
The nearest Tesco is 7 miles away, and I don't always have use of the car, like now, as after knee surgery I can't drive yet.
I use the local shops for everyday items.
