Blimey, it's a chilly day today, about 12⁰'s cooler than a few days ago. MrsP and the cats are not happy.
We have had a couple of heavy rain showers in the last hour, and the sky still looks like it could deliver some more.
Currently watching the snooker final, I used to be an avid watcher and player but kind of lost interest about 10 years back.

Same here. I played regularly and Sue and I watched all the games on TV.
Probably different level to you as, if I got a red/colour/ red that was a success for me.
I got a 20 break ONCE

Just spent ages putting sand in the weights for the patio umbrellas
They are the sort that go out sideways ona cantilever thingy
and so need a lot of weight to hold the base down

WHich is easy - just stick a hosepipe in and fill the weights with water
until you notice that the area is getting very wet and realise one or two have sprung a leak

butthat is fine because the instructions say they can alos be filled with sand
in fact sand is better cecause it is heavier

OOOOOK

so I got some sand and tried to put it in
need a funnel - so I made one from an old plastic bottle
but it just clags up and won't fall into the weight
after several experiments and attempts I have come up with a system with 2 different funnels

but it still takes AGES

I think maybe a different type of sand was needed and this is too claggy - and.or wet!!!

Dubai import millions of tonnes of sand every year. Their own stuff is too smooth for construction purposes.

Just hope I’ve still got a few years to collect my pension. My blood test last month has shown up high cholesterol. Not surprised with all my years of yo-yo diets and binge eating. I’m back on the porridge in the mornings with a spoonful of ground flaxseed and started a few supplements that are supposed to help too. Must stick to healthy eating and stop the crap. Hopefully this will give me the kick up the arse I need to do something about it.

Belated HB 🎉🎂👍
You must be one of the healthiest in this parish: keep it up 😎💪
I am planning a yomp from Reeth to Richmond today, but won’t be as fast as you, I guarantee 🫣

Barnet,
Good morning all from a chilly, cloudy Barnet. Top temperature today will be around 13⁰.
Millie is going to the Vets, she is quite unwell again, very bad tummy trouble.
Sainsbury's are delivering the weekly goodies this afternoon, and in between the exercise regime carries on.
Leftovers for dinner and tea as there are various boxes in the freezer that contain freezer surprise food. We will see what combinations might go together.

Morning.
Glorious here and that biting N wind has dropped, it's still quite chilly out but should improve.
Trip to tip first to dispose of grass cuttings then I'm on me bike.

That's fixable with the right dietary changes........unless like me you have a genetic profile which results in naturally high cholesterol. That's about 15% of the population. Then you get the statin option.

Good morning from a cool, still and beautifully sunny Lancashire. Ideal. Big ride today, 100+ miles which means a lot of prep. First job is to prepare tea to avoid getting home nackered only to find Mrs P is expecting me to make tea........it has happened. The bike is in shape though the chain is a bit claggy, too late to fix that. I got my food badly wrong on the last big ride and ended up cramming crap from a Texaco station to get home. I've been fuelling since 6.30. just finished second round and well hydrated. Flapjack (homemade), mini pork pie, bananas, sultanas, apricots, all packed. I have Luchos, coffee flavour, for emergencies. Job done. Favourite summer jersey today. I'm feeling good about this.

Please behave while I'm out.....................

Have a good one. Your mention of apricots caught my eye, I also take some on a ride. Really good fuel and tasty with it. I tend to carry an emergency gel and a bag of Haribo type sweets but nothing beats proper, actual food.
