I see on the news that the weather is set to be really cold and wet with temps maybe in the minus by 22nd.

I will have to dig my winter bloomers out of the old aircraft hanger that I keep them in.

GBonjour mes amis. It looks as though it will be another beautiful day here. The plan for today is to drive the Col de la Bonette which at 2807m is the highest road in Europe.

Out friends have a rather old convertible Saab 900. One of my favourite cars. It will be quite a trip. Tonight we're going to visit more friends, who live outside of Nice, for dinner. There is a wonderful ice cream shop just down the road from their house. 🍧🍨🍧

Just checked the Met Office and wet and windy spells on the way, but temperatures forecast to be normal or slightly above.

According to Wikipedia five times, most recently in 2008 and 2024. The description of the drive says the road surface is excellent because the tour was there last year.

Apparently the snow has only just cleared and the road opened on May 15th. Forecast for today is -10⁰.......perhaps we'll close the cat roof????? 🥶🥶

Glorious of course.
Up slightly earlier to fuel for club ride and as I'll be riding 16 miles each way to meeting point I'm in for a longish day. Only cloud on the cyclng horizon is the inevitable wind picking up in the afternoon when I'm heading home. Last time I did the same route that's planned for today, I had 30miles into a block headwind home which wasn't fun.

Morning folks Sunny here in Brora so definitely out for a spin and wondering whether to take to the A9 or stick to the single track roads. The A9 can be dodgy....had a motorhome cut me up tuther day as it swerved to avoid oncoming traffic ****tard!
Am trying outdoor tomatoes again...always dubious here in the highlands but worth a punt if we have a long warm summer. Have hundreds of cornflowers up and growing in my front garden which should look nice in shades of blue,purple,cream,pink with a backing of twenty or so foxgloves.

The foxgloves are thriving here also, a wild plant but we encourage them. Our lawn is covered in buttercups, it looks like a field of rapeseed which we also get in abundance grown by the local farmers. My favourite view as I cycle around are the vast fields of vivid yellow.

Slightly cool start here so I did the hill walk. I love the early mornings while it still feels fresh. I may well hide indoors again later if it gets too warm for me.
