Morning.
Woke early as one of the cats came in chirping away. Fell asleep again and just got up feeling groggy, always happens if I go back.
Anyway, lovely morning here sunny and breezy. Might have to go for a pedal....

If the cat was chirping had it brought you a little present? Or swallowed it?

Nah, he just wanted his breakfast. After a while I got to recognise different chirps, there's a particular one he makes when he's caught something which triggers the other two cats we have and they go charging downstairs to share the spoils which is signal for me to trudge down and try and free said captured mouse/bird etc.

Good evening. Today seemed to disappear. An older person's day really. I turned up for my eye test and apologised that I'd left all my payment methods at home. Sorry, can't see you. Rebooted for tomorrow. This also meant I couldn't do the Aldi run. Rebooted for tomorrow. Bugger.

Tonight's mushroom risotto is bubbling nicely. Mrs P announced she wants to have a shower before tea. That was at 6.00pm. 🙄

I've had my G&T and I'm just contemplating another........🤔

Just come back from a short ride

had to pick up SWMBO's prescription on the way
which was not there
but the online system said it was approved so the pharmacy should have been able to see it


turned out that something had gone wrong
the GP couldn;t see it at all
but the on line system had it up there
AND had it as approved
but the pharmacy could see nothing - like the GP

very weird
btu at least it was wrong in a safe - but annoying - way

luckily the GP surgery was still open and the managed to get someone to sort it all out
and the pharmacy know me well and got it sorted quickly at their end

but it did reduce the time I had for a ride before the forecasted rain


which the weather Radar says may be somewhat to the West of us

anyway - bike away and cushions for outdoor chairs are all indoors and it feels very like it will rain soon!

The problem with risotto is one has to stand beside the cooker stirring occasionally. By the time I get back to the front room with the second G&T I have to stagger walk back to stir it again 🤨

Binged 4 episodes of Department Q on Netflix. I suppose I should head to bed soon. I won’t be in a rush to get up in the morning anyway as we have a wet day forecast.

Could do with some rain to reduce the pressure…it’s a warm night.
We have been catching up with Clarkson’s Farm & Beyond Paradise….couple of easy-to-watch shows 🤣
Next up….packing for the IOW festival. For the first time, with our offspring & partners….& also for the first time (there)….camping 😜

Here in Oz the basic eye tests are "bulk billed" which means that Medicare pick up the whole amount with no excess.
You have to pay for spectacles unless you have private medical insurance

I’m sure my optician took £35 for that!

…..and that’s the rain on. If I was tired I would try going back to bed but it would be a waste of time. I just can’t seem to get more than three or four hours sleep these days.
