Decision made. Just removed faulty washer pump, had to remove front passenger wheel and partially move wheel arch liner which inevitably was a faff. I'm praying it goes back ok as had to remove lower section to access it. The block of wood is there to keep liner "open" so can access washer pump to remove which I've done. Now just wait for replacement to arrive. I'm confident it is pump that's failed as have 12v on wiring to it when washer activated.

All good fun!

Same here. I know the internet gets a bad press and there is so much crap on it but things like YouTube are a a real bonus for stuff like this. Quick Google and almost always find someone else as had similar and repaired it and posted a how-to video. I'm reasonably handy on the tools and quite enjoy a fettle so if I can I do my own repairs within reason. I do all my own bike maintenance and minor stuff like this on the cars.

My granddaughter would have more chance of fixing that than me.
Mine would be sat in an expensive garage now

#3SP has a milk allergy and her powdered formula is on prescription. 09.55 #3 starts indicating she's hungry. Bag search reveals no formula. This particular feed takes 30 minutes to make up. Quick phone call to son, Granddad is on his way. Granddad leaves at 10.02, son lives 20/25 minutes away. At 10.43 Granddad arrives home with formula having had to stop for fuel as well. 41 minutes quite a turnaround time!!! 😃

My son will be getting an earful from my DIL. He has history on this. Last time was in Manchester at another son's house. This entailed a 1½ hour round trip to get the formula..........on Christmas Day. My DIL was far from happy. 🤣

I have a sleeping baby in my lap........time for some Netflix as she won't be put down.

I have dismantled another pallet this morning so I now have enough wood to make a flower box that Mrs G requested.
My son also wants one so he is next on the list.

Just come back from a ride

slightly weird - went on the normal route
but tooka slight shortcut just over the bridge - went straight on and downa spiral bridge to get to the canal rather than wind back on myself and joining the canal at the very start

and then took another shortcut at the end to get back quicker

but it still turned out to be just over 20 miles

in fact on some occaissions it ends up as just under 20 miles - 19.5 or something
this time 20.33 with 2 shortcuts

I think it is the tides
the tides was out - hence the weight of the water on the land was removed and the land expands and hence the route is slightly longer
not sure that anything else can explain it

although how the bridges and the tarmac on the roads copes with this

Sounds plausible...
