This is how I feel too. Be what you want to be, but stop preaching about it.

I agree Mo.
I was brought up in a very strict religious household where being (what we call gay) was taboo.
Over the years I have managed to change my views.
What I don't like though is eg TV personalities who deliberately exagerate their being gay. If you're gay, fine but don't shove it in my face.

Stopped motorcycling two weeks ago and not really missing it. I was idling along in traffic and realized I couldn’t see over the hood of the huge pick up trucks on either side of me. With a car close behind I figured I was sitting in a steel box, invisible to the world. This is the latest of many unpleasant experiences in modern Canadian city traffic that has taken the fun out of motorcycles for me. I came home from that ride and put both bikes up for sale. After 47 years and 400,000km it’s best to know when to quit.

I’ve spent the money on… more bicycles! ( we have lots of bicycle trails )

life suddenly seems less complicated.

The day you stop enjoying it is the day to stop. Not reached that point yet, still mad about motorcycles and love riding them, out all day today on my KTM.

Me too.
A local pub/hotel has been taken over by new management and they've been all over Facebook.
The moment they moved in they made a big point of telling everyone they were two guys who were married to each other.
Why? We don't need to know that.
The place has become a laughing stock lately amongst other licensees due to their FB posts about their rules about 'non acceptable behaviour'. ( They kicked out a group of NHS workers for being 'too loud' while celebrating a birthday.)
They've done themselves no favours in such a small community.
I'll give them a year....

There is a meeting of the escape committee this afternoon at the Railway Bell, i hope they have a better ale selection than last week, too many 5% and dark ales, or we will have to move to the Mitre.

If its not a daft question......what is wrong with 5% ales ?
Before I had to pack in drinking I would always go for 5% as it always had more 'body'.
They have dropped a lot of 5% to 4.5% lately in order to keep prices down.

Have to say I also prefer the stronger beer, the 5% stuff. I don't drink anywhere near the quantity of beer I used to when a lot younger but a few pints of it is fine.

Blimey, I don't drink, don't smoke, I'll live forever!

Me too! My slightly decrepit body doesn’t agree though.

It’ll be stress that gets me I think. I can’t cope with noise and it’s getting increasingly bad here now between barking dogs and screaming kids and that’s next door just had a huge load of building supplies dropped off so no doubt whatever they are doing will involve lots of noise. I really need Ernie to chap the door next month and get to hell out of here.
