Mine has 2 paddles at the side of the steering wheel so I can change gear up and down as well as just letting "teh system" decide what gear to be in

If I want I can even put in the S mode where I use the padels and it become like semi auto

Having said which the manual say it is not automatic but CVT - continuors Variable Transmission
so it does have actual gears just a - err - something else
presumably like an old Daf
anyway - it can be rather clunky at times.
normally it is much easier but at times it can be indecisive about which gear to choose
and sometimes even changes up the down then up again - while my foot is not moving on the accelerator

anyway - much easier to drive
but if I had to chaneg tomorrow I would go back to manual

I would always choose auto.
Not sure about those adaptive cruise control gizmos as I'm not sure I would want the car deciding distances for me.

:hello:Morning, been busy, then I went for a drive to give the car an airing, it was then I realised I haven't had my breakfast
so just had scrambled eggs on toast with a sausage.

It is scary at first
but after I tried it a few times with my foot hovering over the brake I got used to it

I do set the distance at a point which is greater than I would leave if I was driving a manual
which tend to mean "some people" pull into it at times and the system brakes to slow down
but it actually works well

I'm annoyed
On Friday, just as we were setting off for the grand son's Pride Parade I had a phone call
It was a lady from Age Concern wanting to talk to me - I do some volunteering for them

I said it was not a good time so she said she would ring back on Monday morning

so - me being me - I have been waiting for teh phone call and worrying about missing it all morning
and she has not yet rung

probably nothing important
but I tend to worry about these things which is why I try to set times for them - then I don;t worry all damn morning!
