That PB thread can be demoralising.

Long-term our PB's returned less than our other investments and we dumped them ages back.

For every 100k we have invested we get around £4250 pa net return without fail - our PB's were nowhere near that.

The very disingenuous PB rate has just gone down but ISA and FRB rates are creeping up!

I have never seen a 100K......even in my dreams

Nicely reminded so I just checked and I got £100 this month on the Premium Bonds.
It's rare I draw a blank but most I've had in any month is about £400 I think.

My opinion of course but at our age money causes us to worry eg who do we leave it to, and what to do with it now.
I have discussed this with my son and daughter and my will is made accordingly.
Don't get me wrong, I would rather have this problem than be skint and owing money but before I had any money I had no worries ie I earned x per week, mortgage was was y.......what little left bought me a couple of pints.

I always went by the idea that if you can't afford it, don't buy it. Weekly pay packets made it easy to budget. Put away for the mortgage, bills, and shopping. Save a bit spend a bit. If you spent too much this week you had to wait until next Friday to start again.

On a different note, I have been given 4 French bean plants, not sure if they are dwarf or climbers but they are now in the garden.

After my accident I have lived from hand to mouth for 36 years 🎻 so never had any money so to speak, if I want anything I have to save for it which could take many months and even a whole year and be very careful spending even going short of a few things at times, one thing it has taught me to appreciate everything I own and too look after it.
If I won any money ( I do the lottey and have a few PBs) I would give it all to my niece and nephew and their children, for I don't want anything as long as I have my rented flat and there is food in the fridge and cupboards I'm quite happy as I do know there are more worse off then I, again though no fault of their own, maybe they got the short straw as I did and I suppose we all can't have been born with a silver spoon in our mouths.

With Mrs Tkk heqading up to London tomorrow for a prolonged visit it has been amusing to see how she has been " casually mentioning " what she finds to be the best washing machine settings for the various items. " I really like the 30 degree program for our regular clothes but of course the 60 degree works better on towels though, if I put it on the speed setting I always have to remind myself to use less detergent as it has a shortened rinse cycle " 😁

You would be as well just asking to leave written instructions for every thing she has deemed you to be incompetent at!

Good afternoon. A bright breezy day in Lancashire. I went to bed late, the result of the pre-procedure prep. Enough said. Up very early to be at the hospital for 7.15. Feeling very tired. I'm pleased to say the colonoscopy was nothing like as uncomfortable as expected. Even better the specialist nurse declared everything is "fine." Two polyps removed for a biopsy because they have to be but the nurse wasn't concerned. A big relief.

I'm not allowed to do anything today and haven't eaten since 1.00pm Tuesday. My plan is to spend the afternoon eating and watching a film. 🤣
