Popped up to the allotment to check my greenhouse. It's hard to believe how much water the cucumber and tomato plants are using. The plants are 6' and by lunchtime the tops are wilting as the plant can't transport water fast enough.
Now then. My gruntle is dissed. Very dissed. My allotment neighbour sowed a new patch of grass this year. It's very fine grass. Yesterday he was a bit annoyed as there was a bees nest in it - bumblebees nest underground. They have a BBQ planned for today and are worried the kids might get stung.
Yesterday there were one or two bees coming and going. Minding their own business. Hurting no one. This morning he's dug up the nest and there are 20 - 30 angry, confused bumblebees flying around...............they've moved their BBQ to the opposite end of the allotment..........which is what I suggested yesterday. 😡😡
I like bumblebees. They are endangered. Populations have declined by 70%. Some people don't get it. I would have been overjoyed to have those little guys on my allotment.
