Dead Woman's Ditch is the name of an ancient monument in the Quantock Hills of Somerset, England, and is associated with the legend of Jane Walford, who was murdered there in 1789. The site is a cross-dyke, an earthwork likely of prehistoric origin, but it gained notoriety due to the tragic story of Jane's murder by her husband, John Walford. While the name predates the murder, the connection to the event has cemented its place in local folklore.

I have returned from the metropolis. Shopping done, petrol got, and about 70 miles done as i had to go to town as well to pick up the tablets for Mr WD and grandson.

Well - just got a phone call from the hospital
my follow up consultation at the hospital has been cancelled and move from next week to the end of October
It is for the Gastro department - so I presume it is to do with my Coeliac disease
but the letter just said the department - which is a bit silly as some poeple have multiple problems
but anyway

As I said earlier it has been very quiet here and still quiet now, harldy any traffic and no noise from the neighbours it's uncanny.
Just realised I can't hear the motorway either, I have just tapped on my deck and can hear that, so not gone deaf
just looked out side and there's no birds on the feeder...........the lull before the storm.
