Cooooeee. What a horrible night. I couldn't sleep because of the heat and i have a  headache now.

It's supposed to be 7 deg cooler here today at 21 deg. That's more like it.

Stay safe peeps

Not one of THOSE Woman's headaches is it

Morning.
A bit misty but due to burn off. I don't mind actually as have a decent ride planned so I don't want roasting hot if I can avoid it. Stack of washing on, cats fed and coffee on the go.

Good morning. :sun: :sun: I've just been outside fettling my bike. It feels quite fresh and, strangely, quite muggy in the house. That's a bit bizarre. It will be very hot soon and then the house will begin to feel quite cool.

Today? Gravel riding. I love these rides. We're heading down to Ancoats, very trendy Manchester quarter, where there are four very good bakery/coffee shops to choose from. There must be more, we haven't found them yet. Highly quality coffee and pastries will be consumed. I'm the furthest out on this ride so we pick up folk along the way. The messages are "meet at bridge #" or "just opposite the boatyard at".........love it.

My head needs this ride as much as my body. When we head southish I always have 8/9 miles along the Leeds Liverpool canal solo to the meet point, same on the way home. Both are great as it's just me but the out leg to meet up is just beautiful. The LL will be quiet, the water drops the local temperature to a delicious level, the trees give overhanging shade and above all there is NO ONE except ME!!!! This is why I ride a bike. Bliss................................well the occasional dog walker or runner, but you get it. If you could sell the feeling it would be illegal..................or I'd be a very rich man.

I must crack on and get me kit on.....................

Morning all :hello:

Chap rang me last night with quote to get my CRV through its MOT.
£600....which I thought was quite reasonable, so I gave him the go ahead. There's a lot of welding to do under both rear wheel arches and a CV boot to replace, amongst other minor stuff. At least it will have some value as a PX against my next vehicle, or I could sell privately for about £1200; better than scrapping it.

Off to Minehead on the train today to meet up with our mates for lunch in Wetherspoons.

Riverside trail walked. Hurt my back a bit though. Entirely my own stupid fault, gawping at something on the other side of the river and caught my toe on a protruding stone. I saved myself from falling but jerked my back which went into spasm. I walked the worst of it off but it’s still a bit tender. I really don’t seem to lift my feet high enough and am probably safer walking on the roads.
