Just back from my bimble. A very pleasant easy zone 2 25 miles. The heart rate never got above 130 which is good considering I’m carrying too much weight and one of the hills was about 7% in sections.

It’s our Highland Games today and they couldn’t get a nicer day for it. Sun is out and there isn’t a cloud in the sky. A nice touch is the person who has been picked to be the Chieftain for the day is one of the nurses at the health centre who has put in nearly 50 years service and a nicer person you couldn’t meet.

Finished watching 1883. Wow. Just wow. Slower paced than 1923 but very compelling viewing. Such a sad ending as well - even big ruffty me almost had a tear in my eye.

Good morning folks, week 2 ( or is it three ) of 6 year old granddaughter staying with us, great fun as I get to indulge my inner silliness, but quite exhausting too. Yesterday we met up with Edinburgh daughter, her chap, and a couple of her friends. We took the train to Brockenhurst and had a wonderful lunch at the Pig. Very grand, and the service and food was excellent. I suffered a bit last night as my starter of vegetable fritters was a bit too rich for me. Mrs Tkk had crispy kale, I tried a bit and it was surprisingly tasty. Mrs Tkk remarked to the waiter that her attempts always ended up as a disaster and he reappeared a few minutes later with advice from the Chef 👍
Anyway rest and recover today, training starts tomorrow 😉

Morning all :hello:

Matt's back at the Railway Inn after his 2 week holiday in Wales, so Sunday lunch is back on the menu.
We'll stroll down to Doniford Halt request stop later and hop on the train to Williton, have lunch and then walk home.

I've got a trials practice day next Sunday, so I need to dig the Montesa out and fettle it this week.

Ooops. Minor porridge volcano in the microwave.

I do that sometimes in the mornings

main problem is eruption of my wife's cocoa in the evening
HAS to be done for 1 minute 30 seconds - stirred - then done for another minute

but at some point it will suddenly start rising FAST and I have to stop the microwave the instant that starts
which is variable

she claims that when she does it she can do it for 1 minute 30 twice and it is fine

I am considering this as evidence of witchcraft!!!

It's a very posh part of south west London is Wimbledon Village.

Went for a ride yesterday

legs were not happy about it for some reason
I was riding fine but my legs felt like I was riding up a big hill!

even had to change down gear to get over the Widnes Runcorn bridge - which is normally a thing if I have not been out for a couple of weeks

it wore off by about half way so I was fine when I got home

no idea why - I had been out the previous day - but its not like I was climbing an alp!!!

Back from my walk. Thought at one stage I had pushed it too far, good job the stroller has a seat as I enjoyed a 5 minute break in the sunshine.

I found it a bit depressing at one point (allow me to explain).........
A regular walk with Sue was through green belt woodland. Any way, a BIG London developer got permission to build 1400 houses on it. It's taken 6 years of fighting by the anti-build group but it was obvious that money would talk and the 1st residents have moved in. I kid you not, some of the apartments are literally 25 mtrs from the bank of the M62....see photo below... the fence to the left is the M62
