They are total amateurs when it comes to moulting
I had an Alsatian - GSD in metric - and she spent a lot of time outdoors - even in winter
(before anyone says that was cruel - she didn;t have a good start in life and I sort of rescued her - outdoors was her safe space
and she had to guard the house from marauding cats and foxes)
anyway - as a result her winter coat was amazingly thick - and waterproof
and when she moulted the whole carpet changed to the same colour as her undercoat
and the carpet was bright red!!!

Got a shortish ride in before lunch so it wasn;t too hot
not many people out once I got away from the built up areas
did manage a PB on "The Bridge" - i.e. beating yesterdays "record"
I did check the actual start and finish point last night
and that is the first time I have actually tried to do it as fast as possible
oh and BTW - speed was over the motor cut off all the way
not accelerating up to it but whatever

MR WD's lawnmower has died. To be fair it is 20 years old so we have has our moneys worth. We won't bother to buy a new one until next spring now. It isn't worth it as the summer I'd nearly over and it would be left unused all winter.
Went out on the old Falcon to the shops earlier on. Got about 200 yards changed onto first gear and the chain came off the rear freewheel and got jammed between the freewheel and the hub. Carried the bike home and got a spare bike out to go to the shops.
The repair meant I had to split the chain, take the rear mech off to release the wheel, then take the freewheel off to release the chain stuck behind it.
Then I decided to do the wheel bearings as the wheel was out. Dear 'o dear.
