MR WD's lawnmower has died. To be fair it is 20 years old so we have has our moneys worth. We won't bother to buy a new one until next spring now. It isn't worth it as the summer I'd nearly over and it would be left unused all winter.

Nowadays I find that the lawn seems to keep growing a bit over winter

never used to in the old days but these days I tend to have to mow it a couple of times over winter whenever it si dry enough
