Good morning. Grey. Overcast. Showers. Sun.............that's what we're promised for today. Currently grey and overcast. I have slept. Yes, this is worthy of an announcement. I've had so little sleep of late things were becoming a real struggle. The early hours of Thursday morning in particular were horrible. We had #1 and #3SPs yesterday and #1 decided Granddad would take her swimming. We arrived at the swimming pool. She was asleeep. Granddad found a quiet corner in the car park, reclined the seat and joined her. That's how dog-tired I was, napping in a Chorley car park with a four year-old!! Anyway I slept 7 hours 12 minutes last night. Feeling great this morning.

Invigorated and motivated I will be busy today. It's a treatment day for Mrs P so I'll be fitting lots of mundane chores around dropping off and collecting her. The usual stuff; housework, ironing, cooking, supermarket, banking for u3a, etc. Nothing exciting but for the first time in days I feel like I could do this stuff.

Ironing next while I watch some more of Mrs Biggs. This is on Netflix starring Sheridan Smith and Daniel Mays and I think it is very good. Apparently it was first shown on ITV in 2012.....................that's way beyond my memory capacity. I've cleared cache, deleted, rebooted and slept multiple times since then! ^_^

Good moaning all.
Weird start to the day. Woke for a riddle at 6, was tired so tried bed again. Slept heavy and woke again at 8.15......still tired.
Got a lock smith (Window Geeks) coming this morning. All windows are 20+ years old and some are giving problems so they all need sorting out.
In other news......granddaughter is going camping for a few days, with 2 friends. They are all quite capable but it should be erhh interesting

Good Morning All
Today is my last day of employment!
I have to go into the office to return my laptop, etc. and then I'll be officially retired at 15.30. ^_^

Welcome to the dark side!!
by dark I mean in the morning - you can leave the bedroom curtains closed until whenever you want

(or you can unless you have children who realise that the kids GrandDad is available during school holidays!)

I got my walk done and no rain. In fact, it has brightened up slightly although we have showers forecast later. The river is starting to rise now with the rain we have had. The anglers will be happy as there's hardly been enough water for fishing the last few months.

I am not going to a BBQ today so the very heavy rain should hold off!!!

First thing I noticed when I got my computer working this morning was an email from Groupon

title "Time to Restock??"

subject - 12 months supply of hayfever tablets
last time I bought this item

Popped up to the allotment and got distracted by the need to harvest. Tomatoes are two varieties - Gardener's Delight and Supersweet 100 - Victoria plums, damsons in jar, elephant garlic. I'll roast and freeze in individual servings most of the tomatoes with the garlic, olive oil and herbs, it will be like a taste explosion, summer in the depths of winter. Plum jam and probably chutney as there are loads more to pick. Storing apples is tricky so most of these will be juiced.

'Tis the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness ❤️

The ironing can wait....
