On the way home took a 2 mile detour to check out the site of the old RAF Denton airfield barely 2 miles from home. All gone now, but the concrete roadways and pads where the huts sat are still visible.

There are bits of history all over

I used to take the dog for a walk to Arrow Park on the Wirral

on the park there are raised paths that don;t really lead anywhere except across the park
there used to be far more but apparently football pitches come first

these ere put there as road for trucks and tanks and the like during the war - these came over from America and came ashore in Birkenhead then were stored and checked at Arrow Park

my Mum sometimes muttered something about not being allowed to go and watch when she was a girl
but there were a lot of tanks and seeing them move around was amazing

Her Dad was the local village bobby and knew everyone

she was a red head and the schools were closed for years to girls at the start of the war while he was on 12 hour shifts

I heard some stories about how they passed their time during the summers
I'm pretty sure her friend Betty could have told a lot more!

Ah, yes I know. The old Wyevale.

Thats the one. Been a few years since it was a Wyevale.

Its Bruce's favourite place to visit.

A beautiful sunny morning here, so, we went out for another Tandem ride.

Not a huge success.

We fell off (again), Mrs @BoldonLad says I am becoming over confident manoeuvring in confined spaces (she is probably, right, she usually is)

About halfway round our 19 mile circuit, the heavens opened, and, we got soaked. (that was deemed my fault too 🙂)

The good news, no injuries and again, no witnesses to our inelegant dismount. 😊

Morning. It’s dark and it’s quite chilly. Last recorded temperature at the nearest weather station is saying 4 degrees.

Barnet,
Good morning all.
Another sunny start to the day here but due to cloud over this afternoon before tomorrow's heavy rain.
Sainsbury's are delivering the weekly goodies between 9 and 10 of the am clock.
I'll get a ride in after that as I have a few errands to run and some medication for Millie from the Vets to pick up.
