Good morning. AWOL a bit this week but here I am, alive and faintly kicking! I felt very weary when I woke up. Anyway up and running now. It's damp and miserable outside so it's just as well I managed to fit in grass cutting yesterday. Today is filled with stuff. We're off to London tomorrow so there is hoovering and dusting to get done, the washing machine is running as is the tumble dryer. Later this morning I'm meeting a u3a colleague to help them with out IT, then it's haircut, a meeting with my son's care providers and home. Tea to make, packing to do and possibly ironing.

PHEW!!!

Walk walked without getting too wet. It's a bit heavier now.

Toast and ham for breakfast with a big mug of decaf tea.

I might watch some of the athletics later if it stays wet.

Talking of animals being sick, I'm sure they seem to look for soft surfaces that are hard to clean to do it on. Molly is the same if she gobbles her food too quickly. The kitchen and hall have hard floors but she always goes into one of the bedrooms with a cream carpet to do it!

Here is another xx( for Molly.

Finally getting a sparky to look at my so called smart meter tomorrow. So I've just spent a couple of hours cleaning out the cupboard it lives in. Totally knackered now. The meter hasn't actually communicated with the Internweb since it was installed about seven years ago, nice to see Scottish power are so on the ball. Hopefully this should fix it.

Funny that
I heard there is a move afoot to change their targets from
"Installing smart meters"
to
"having connected smart meters that send the right data"

which explained a lot why they seemed VERY keen to installed them
and when they went wrong they were much less keen on fixing them

whoever set their targets and payments must have been an idiot if they couldn;t see how it would go!!

The last time I was subjected to an Ikea was when they wouldn't serve eggs with the breakfast because Edwina Currey said they had Salmonella or summat..

Ikea is the portal to hell. Once you enter you're condemned to spend all eternity walking around and around and around past an endless display of flat pack furniture because there is no exit. It just goes on and on for ever.

I used to go to the one in Warrington quite often for "stuff"

I found there were doors at the time marked "Staff Only" but then cut through the maze that you "had" to walk round and directed you through all the displays
and you could - with a bit of thought - go direct to the bit you actually wanted to see

and if you knew what you wanted you could "go in through the out door" and direct to the warehouse bit and get the thing direct
there was even a screen where you could find where it was rather than using the display somewhere in the maze

saved loads of time

I just hated** the Warrington one.
**past tense as its so long since I was dragged in.
As Baldy says.... its the entrance to hell.
Strangely my wife's sister and (late) hubby used to love it....... it was a sort of monthly day out for them.
