Good morning. The sun is shining in Lahndon. Our last day here and my cousin's 75th birthday party, the reason we're down here. He's 75 , his wife 70, so a double celebration. They live in a penthouse next to the Tate Modern. I do not exaggerate. Around 1.00pm I will be entering a different universe, an alternate reality...............one in which cyclists, flat caps and thin long legged dogs are a thing of curiosity. 🤣

No. We will have a good time. The family are all good people, just their world is very different to ours.

Then we'll grab an Uber to Euston, home to Lancashire while my bicycle gently weeps for me......

......meanwhile it's off to Gail's for breakfast, yesterday's Travelodge was as tasteless as predicted 😲

Watchet '40s Weekend' winds up today. Been quite entertaining with everyone dressing up and doing 40s stuff.

Well yes - one was is more aero and the other keeps the rain out of your eyes

but you still need some people so refuse to wear a helment and some people to argue that they must

UNLESS
they have crash resistant flat caps??
I hadn't thought of that

Well, you can get crash resistant balaclavas now, for use on Suron electric motorbikes, so, crash resistant flat caps shouldn’t be impossible 😂

Not long back from my walk. It dropped to 5 degrees as the daylight came in and the next two days are to be even colder. Predicting around 3 so might even be a touch of frost. It's gorgeous though. Currently dry and sunny with blue skies.

Extra long walk done this morning.

Small things can escalate. I've just checked my WhatsApp. Last night I accidentally told my cycling group of plans my walking group has for going to see Bob Dylan.

I've just purchased eight tickets! Thank the lord for credit cards. It will be a good evening, two of my very different social worlds will conjoin....

Sounds like you enjoy physical shopping as much as I do! Apart from food shopping, I rarely go near a shop if I can help it.

I don't mind shopping
but I do it at a rather greater pace than "some other people"

I tend to go at a faster pace than pretty much anyone else in the place
and I have a problem with my legs in that they get very tired if I walk slowly for any length of time
fast pace and I can keep going for hours
slow and I'm dying after 30 minutes

which is weird

also - constantly stopping and looking and things is also tiring (I think it is called browing??)
unless it is something interesting like bike bits or general outdoor stuff - obviously

Morning. I wasn’t sleeping either so just got up. It’s a fresh 6 degrees at the moment but dry. I’ll probably stick the head torch on and just get out soon.
You could have stuck yer headtorch on, but I doubt you'd have been going anywhere if it were like it were here. You'd have been soaked before you got the door locked.
