Sunny here now, but the valley was on flood alert last night. Hopefully no damage done.

It's the 5th time in ten years there's been a "once in a lifetime event".

We had 2 floods last night here in Warrington. Houses evacuated in one area.

It is always worrying if you are in one of those sort of areas

Technically we are in a flood risk area
but looking at the actual local roads we will be OK unless it massive!

Bike are really good for working out the slight gradients on little roads - the bloke opposite was wondering about it last year when we were chatting
and I showed him the very slight incline from the T-junction to our house
and the slope down away from out house down that little close 2 doors up
them the drop to the stream and it's 10-20 foot culvert

he has lived there for many years and had never noticed the slopes on the roads!

A deep question (or 2) for you.
The basis for it is as follows...... the question comes after.
1. Johnny Mathis has announced his retirement aged 89 (good on him).
2. Matt Beard, Mgr of LFC ladies has had a stroke and died aged 47!! Leaves a wife and 2 children.
3. Radio 2 religious presenter (sounds a nice lady) said, this morning, that she "found her faith" aged 15.

I know there are some religious believers on here.....
I DID have "a faith" but gladly walked away in my 50s.

point being.........just that these things really raise lots of questions don't they.

NB
Try to keep this from being banished to that dark place

My brain is dead today, or I'm missing something, what's the question ??
If you can't find your faith your looking in the wrong place.

TBH I phrased that badly.
It's a sort of hidden, rhetorical question.
I don't see that ANY faith can give a logical answer to the family of the 47 year old as to why he should die so young.
It won't be any sort of answer to point out all the little children that die etc.

I just read those 2 news items and thought "what the hell".

I find that hard to understand too, so much suffering in the world and if there was a God why does he not stop it ?
So many questions without answers, Why me ?.......What have I done wrong ?...........My children did nothing, but they died 😢

Could I be pregnant ??
I had a large ginger cooky 1st thing. Later I had a full English with (most of) the works. I am now hungry
I am chomping on a Crunchy bar with a glass off iced coffee just to put me on.
Later I will have chicken curry with rice and chips.

I hope to retire next year or so.... I recon my hobbies will keep me busy, but I'll also be caring for my 92YO mother.... as for finances, well if I've not saved enough its a bit late now... But I was a student many years ago so I know how to live cheap.
Congrats, & we look forward to welcoming you to Team Unemployable ^_^
You can always aim to find a little more money from a side hustle if needed....but you can't get your years back.

Right...bags checked & re-packed, bike on car rear rack, off shortly to my pals before our little mini adventure!
