Just been out for a quick 4 mile walk, past a convoy of rickshaws maybe 30+. It's some sort of charity event around the Alloa area. Didn't have a camera with me unfortunately. They were e-trishaws with a volunteer stoker and OAP's as passengers. Looked like they were all enjoying it.

I’ve been care home visiting. I noticed a Facebook post the other day from one of the care homes showing some of the residents and recognised a lady from my old village. She and her husband ran one of the grocers shops in the village when I was growing up. Sadly she has lost all her family now so said she doesn’t get many visitors so was delighted to see me. I was worried she might have dementia and not recognise me, but apart from repeating herself a couple of times, was still quite switched on and we had a good natter about the village.

That’s the first time I’ve been inside the home and it is definitely one of the better ones I would say. She took me up to see her room and it was lovely.

Afternoon folks :okay: took a spin over the hills this morning before the storm blows in. Find myself musing on various subjects as i go....a sparrow hawk flew over and i thought what evolutionary perfection- a killer design and beautiful like a spitfire. Then i wondered does beauty equate to lethality? vultures are a perfect design but not poster boys/girls of the natural world  Anyhoo managed not to crash into a hedge whilst distracted by my ponderings and survived the A9!
Batten down the hatches! :okay:

Something I heard yesterday. The person involved is well known to my family so I have no reason to doubt this...........
The (English) person involved is an outspoken critic of Trump.
He was due to go to America on holiday but out of the blue he has been notified that his visa has been cancelled. No warning and apparently no chance of an appeal.
Very scary.
Dave, you don't surprise me one single bit. I can happily believe this is absolutely true. Personally I wouldn't visit the States for fear of being refused entry or detained. I could add many Trump related reasons but those are my two main concerns.

We have good friends on the east coast, in California and in Florida. Some but not all are English and you won't be surprised to learn are, like me, quite left leaning in their politics and outlook. Way beyond what Americans consider "the left." They are all horrified by what's happening in their adopted country. We video call regularly, one friend of 50 years simply refuses to discuss the political situation. It's terrifying.
