Off to Bridgwater this morning to look at some motorcycle clothing.

Good morning. Dull and grey. Paul on the other hand feels bright and perky!! 👍

Mrs P is proper poorly, a fluey sort of thing. I just hope it isn't Covid. I packed her off to bed about 7.00pm yesterday. Now if I can persuade Mrs P to go to bed you know she's poorly.........

We have friends arriving from Nice tomorrow. 23:30 at Liverpool JLA. I need to get everything ship shape over today and tomorrow. Mrs P has decided they will sleep in the artic room. This needs a serious sort out.

Session with my PT at lunchtime. Target is to finish chores downstairs before I leave for that. Byeeeee 👋👋

Right -I'm up

weirdly so is my wife - I normally have to get her up at 10 but that last 2 days she has been up before I go to get her

which does eat into the time I get alone in the house in the mornings!!

anyway - have to get myself sorted today because some idiot (me) volunteerd t give a talk at an Age UK thingy next week and I said I would to a short talk abou tthe NHS App

and I need to do a PowerPoint on it

I reckon the standard for these things is a 25 slide thing with lots of writing and for me to stand looking at it and read it out

but I have seen to many of them so I'll do it my way with naff all writing and look at the assembled masses - which will probably be 2-3 people if that

we shall see how many people turn up - but if it gets into double figure for the whole day I will be surprised!!

Damn, I stupidly opened the door to Jehovah's Witnesses.

Always brings to mind the stoning sketch from Monty Pythons Life of Brian " I only said that piece of Halibut was nice enough for Jehovah..."

Damn, I stupidly opened the door to Jehovah's Witnesses.

I have done that a few times - they normally go away when I just tell then I am not interested

as an aside - and I am nto even sure if it was Jehovah's Witnesses or some other similar group

but the lad I sat next to a work came in one day a bit worried
he had discovered that 2 people had being going round to his Dad's house and "having a cuppa" - a couple of times a week
his Dad was pretty much housebound but OK by himself and mentally fine

anyway - he went round that evening with his sister and talked to himwhich resulted in him taking some time off work to meet them next time they were due to come round

turned out their sect was committed to "doing God's work by helping people"
and all helping they did counted
they were supposed to pass on the message of God but once his Dad had made it clear thet he was not interested they were free to have a chat about other things

and they just kept coming back a couple of times a week - and just chatted

they checked it all out and it was fine - just company

the 2 people said that it was great for them because they normally spent a lot of time knocking on doors and being rejected
this way they got praise from the sect for doing God's work - but got positive vibes from it and felt they were doing good by just providing company

which worked very well for everyone for several years
(The family did keep an eye on things - but apparently their Dad was a basic working class Liverpool man - and Catholic - and would not put up with any carp!!)

so they are not all aggressive single focussed cult recruiters

Handy to have your own blood pressure monitor. They are not overly expensive.

I've got one that I use, it's the same make as the one the doctor uses.
An Omron M2, only £30 .
