I still listen to cd's in the house. I used to play them in the car as well. I changed the battery a couple of years back and realised I didn't know the pin number for the radio/cd player.

I've not listened to my CDs for some years. I've got a decent radio with CD slot so I will remedy that......maybe today.

Good morning folks, walking group this morning followed by a social natter in the pub. The dehumidifier has been indispensable during the rainy spell, just set and forget, it's a cheapie Screwfix " Blyss " model but does a sterling job of drying the laundry.

When we have the dehumidifier on, it warms up the room as well so no need for heating. Have you noticed that too?

I’m still a CD user. I also have some classic records which I play on my ancient Sony music system from the 1990s.
I’m mainly posting this on here to see if I can resurrect my “alerts”, which suddenly all disappeared yesterday. If I post something new on a thread like this one, then the alerts have reappeared for that thread.

Yes, it does make a difference. Looking at it logically there's the power being used by the compressor which will generate heat, and the small amount of power being drawn by the fan. It takes more energy to heat up wet air than dry air, and reading a recent comment on an article it said tht as the damp air condenses on the compressor coils then that too releases heat making it overall a net positive.

Good morning. Dreich. The ironing was done earlier, a tidy round and empty the dishwasher before setting off to collect #3SP.

I was given something that's got a streaming cold, teething and hasn't slept all night. A quick nap in the car, one Weetabix and a whole banana later and we have a happy, sunny #3 rampaging around.

Granddad does magic as well.

Various bits:

Crap wet & grey day.

Last round of chemo has given me a horrible rash - known side-effect.

Gave all my CD's away - been streaming Spotify for years now. Much more user friendly.

Diplomat on NF: binged S3 and bloody brilliant. S4 being filmed, apparently.

Dossing day predicted.

Enjoy your day, all.

Good morning......or should that be good evening.
A decent sleep but this is just too early to be up and around.
Just 1 main thing to do this morning and that is to prepare a meal for the slow cooker. I am doing a Morocan style chicken meal. Makes me smile when the recipe says "prep time 10 minutes......it takes me that long to peel a carrot

You peel carrots?😲

Cooking...... I sort of enjoy it but accept that I'm not good/natural.
I now have my Morocan chicken in the slow cooker but the preparation takes me forever ie I started at just gone 9 and it's now on.
My son is a chef and even as a teenager everything seemed natural to him, it's not fair I tell you, it's just not fair.
