Dang the expense, I'm putting blueberries in my porridge this morning! 😋

Mrs Tkk stirs a spoonful of peanut butter into hers...

On one of our trips to the air show at Fairford my Dad told me about working on Stirlings there during the war

he said the rumour was that the original design had wings that were too long and the committee didn;t like them
and had a meeting (or several)
so the made them shorter and deeper to fit in the regulation RAF hangars

thus producing a 4 engine long range bomber that could out turn a Spitfire
but whose ceiling height was too low
which made them "interesting" in a 1000 bomber raid when they were flying below the Hercs and Lancs which everyone was dropping bombs

that was apparently the rumour during the war anyway

Good morning. It's a beautiful day in sunny Lancashire. I'm currently sat in the hospital pharmacy waiting to pick up some heavy duty Cocodamol. She's in a lot of pain.

Inside I'm irrationally angry at the silly circumstances which lead to her fall. It could so easily have been avoided if people didn't fly into a blind panic when things go wrong.

The speaker for our u3a meeting turned up and 20 minutes before she's due to start announces "my laptop is dodgy, can I borrow one." Paul gets a phone call "can we borrow your laptop?" "Yes, but I'm naked, I'll be there in ten minutes." In fact I was wearing leg warmers and a base layer and about to put on my bib shorts. Not a pretty sight!!!! I live 3 - 4 minutes from the venue so I felt 10 minutes was reasonable. This wasn't quick enough so the caller said "I'll ask Maria to come and get it."

This despite me pointing out without me being physically present the laptop won't allow access. Facial recognition.

All very avoidable if people were better organised and less impatient.

Popped into the Goat and Tricycle yesterday afternoon. It used to be two pubs, the Pembroke and the Pembroke Arms iirc, now merged into one building so a bit higgledy - piggeldy internally. Taken over by Buscombe Brewery a few years ago and there's now a great range of beers and ciders. Landlady and landlord are excellent and there's lots going on in the upstairs function room. I knew they had a book group and occasionally put on science based talks, but hadn't realised that they had branched out into Life Drawing.
Perhaps there's an opportunity to earn a few beers by volunteering to be a model...🤔
