Thanks for that. I have bought Duracell. Original battery was Enigiser and lasted about four years, be interesting to see how long this one lasts. The good news is, at least now, I know what the problem is, and, how to change the battery. 😊

Duracell would be my first choice but I couldn't find the size I needed and so plumped for Panasonic.

Energiser are very good in my experience.

Various:

I have finished my chemo treatment and am switching to a year of gene targeted therapy. Blood and bone marrow appear to be clear. Happy thus far and simply cracking on with as normal a life as possible. Over 130 days spent either in hospital (admitted) or on day visits to said hospital - since April. We are both 'hospitaled out' and utterly knackered.

I am also chomping at the bit to get back to full fitness but it will be a very long haul.

Amusing to watch a certain minister deliberately avoid answering the same question 5 times at PMQ's yesterday. He was apoplectic, too. Almost burst a blood vessel as well.

*

Watched an ITV import on Netflix (or at least watched about 30 mins of it) called North Shore, last night. Ye gods it was dire, dodgy acting, a miscast male lead and a tedious plot line. We are glad we avoid terrestrial TV these days - #nolicencehere .

*

Part of re-establishing some life normality is to recommence some domestic duties hence currently cooking a huge pan of chilli. Looking forward to it and I have committed to cooking an Indian in Saturday, too.

*

Had my double covid/flu jab this morning. Feeling fine, they have caused zero problems in the past. Hoping that this is the case this time around.

Enjoying the Alien Life thread on CC at the moment.

My #2 son is Downs, he's 37. He works in a cafe that supports individuals with learning difficulties. He absolutely loves his job. It's a huge part of his social and learning life. These places are very important, we should support them whenever possible.

Indeed! The Camphill Café in MK is such a place. Good food & the staff are lovely, too.
It's so popular that booking is advised 👍

It's such a shame that Workbridge, attatched to St Andrews hospital, is closing ☹️

Nope. I did go to the one in MK near the Grand Union Canal, though..
That had friendly but interesting staff!

The Spire Church on Poole High Street ( Wesleyan ) was refurbished several years ago. It's got the original stone facade and structure but was revamped interally with meeting rooms, posh toilets and a big cafe with childrens play area. Several of the Café staff are people with various learning difficulties, it's a joyous place to visit, great value for money and the home made cakes are both delicious and you get a very generous portion. We popped in several weeks ago when we were in Poole, I had my usual treat of a cheese omelette with chips and Mrs Tkk had the Vegan breakfast. She was quite surprised when the Vegan breakfast arrived as it had two fried eggs with it 😂. Needless to say I scoffed those and was still able to manage a slice of Victoria sponge afterwards.
