Aye, I dont often carry my phone either. Horrible intrusive things.

I was European sales manager and then set up my own business. A phone was vital and became part of my life (like many others).
Nowadays I get very few phone calls and those I do get are usually bad news.....BUT strangely, on the few occasions I forget to take it with me I feel undressed.

And just think......without mobiles how would we know about Drago's Y fronts  .

Something came into my mind this morning...

If it was vegans that dropped the atomic bomb would the plane have been called the 'Granola Gay'? 🤔

Well, after a days work, my route home through Moulton Park industrial estate had, in a masterful piece of planning, roadworks at both ends that caused total gridlock..
Eventually, I dumped the car & walked the 1¾ miles home.
I'll pop back on the Brommie this evening and retrieve it once the roads are clear.. 👍

Sat in the surgery's waiting room. They have new chairs. Has there been a 'national find the most uncomfortable chairs' competition that I am unaware of......these are rock hard, no give at all.
To top it all my Doctor is out on a home visit and reception don't know when she will be back. I will give it 6 minutes (to the appointment time** and then I'm off.
**I am only here because she asked to come in and gave me this time.

They have just started work demolishing and rebuilding part of the Plessey / Yunex site in Poole. It was originally the site of a munitions factory then Plesseys took over the site. The bar code and bar code scanners were designed and developed there as was ERNIE the Premium Bond machine. Sir Tim Berners-Lee used to work there for a time. Strange that wandering to Screwfix last week all was as in the first photo, and this week it's nearly all gone.

There I am, in town and just left B&Q. This brings me to a roundabout where I turn right on to a 30mph dual carriageway. As I turn a Fiat 500 shoots across at a nippy pace. I use the outside lane as the nearside gets the feed from an adjacent roundabout. A white Volvo V4 comes up behind me at speed. I indicate and start to move over. She undertakes me at speed, we round the slight right bend where a side road joins the carriageway. She immediately brakes hard. I carry on laughing to myself. The blue lights come on and follow her out!!! Yeah!!! 🤣

Back from seeing the Doc'..... can I really trust someone called Doctor MooMoo (really, seriously that's her name).
For a change it was (nearly) all good news ie B/P** and Magnesium are back to normal. They still don't know why my kidney is working so hard BUT she kindly told me it's not heading towards dialysis.
**My B/P was on the high side but is now normal.

Yes, I know many people who feel this way and I understand their feelings. It doesn't bother me. Mrs P and I both carry our phones all the time. Without her phone I dread to think how long Mrs P would have lain hidden from sight at the top of the garden.

I was only 5 - 6 minutes away from leaving for a 5 - 6 hour ride on the opposite side of the house. All our immediate neighbours were out.

Well we are back from the "Old Boys" do at my old school

My wife came along as, for the first time, partners were invited and there was a tour of the school

I did seem to be the one encouraging people to wander off down paths that were not on the tour
in one case to see if some "huts" were still there that were certainly build when asbestos was though to be a wonderful thing in house and schools etc!

they were still there and looked identicalt wo when we were there!

we then had dinner as part of the event and the food was great - not at all like the school dinners when we were there - which was mentioned a few times!

we went to the main school hall - it was noted that this went across some garden where some of teh teacher lived
for some reason, some of us clearly remembered the wife of one teacher who liked to sunbathe in their garden in hot weather
(I say some - one person didn't and it turns out he is gay - they rest of us.....)

anyway - inside there were a few pictures of some notable people who had been at the school
one was in our year and had been down to be with us but backed out at the last minutes
his picture was huge - there were more than a few comments about it - pity he wasn't there he hear them!!

Different reaction to the plaque in the chapel for another one of "us lot" who crashed flying a Harrier when the engine failed coming off a carrier

but it was a great evening - and my wife got to see the school went to

Interesting evening and more than a few drinks were had

No point in owning a phone if you don't keep it with you and switched on.
The phone is there for my use, not the other way round.

I've seldom ignored a call on it in the 26 years I've owned one. And I've always bought/used one that no-one else would.
