The trouble with this smart meter malarkey is that I'm slightly OCD, so there is the distinct possibility that I could become obsessed with looking at it and the numbers

If you ask they will send you an Octopus " mini " which is a little pink gizmo which talks to your start meter in real time and displays usage by day / week / month / year. You can select kWh used, or cost, this is me so far today:

Note to self. Steer clear of newly opened Chinese bridges.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

The gizmo which came with our smart meter has never worked. It lives in the spare room cupboard, top shelf at the back.

Mine worked perfectly from the time the meter was installed but I got fed up feeling I was constantly looking at it. I already know the next few months will be horrendous with electric heating and don’t want reminded!

I was in no rush to get out of bed as it’s heavy rain and windy here at the moment. It might go off mid to late afternoon.

Barnet,
Morning all.
It's very dark out there, the cats 🐈 have rushed off down the garden. It's supposed to be cloudy all day, but no rain yoday, that's due tomorrow.
I've had the email from the library that two more books I requested are ready for collection, Mark Cavendish's and Geraint Thomas's.
One of the first energy saving light bulbs I bought, it must be well over 30 years ago blew last night so that needs replacing. It was one of the early Phillips ones with what looked like very small tubes coming out of the body.
Other than the excitement of that, all the usual stuff to do today.

Yep, get that. I would have been interested for a month at best. I have an energy monitor in the house already, have had for 45 years. Her name is Mrs P......it's cold why isn't that thermostat working...........................I have long since given up on explaining this.

Good morning. It looks as though a fine day is dawning. Slept till 05.45 after going to bed at 21.50. I was tired, yesterday's ride was tough. I was on my Kinesis winter bike, a great bike but it doesn't have the responsiveness or the climbing of my Cervelo. Add to that I'm still trying to recover my climbing strength. One thing and another means my riding has been hugely restricted these past 18 months and there's no substitute for riding the thing! Still, no matter, my buddies understand and frankly that's all that matters.

Today? Mrs P has an xray appointment. Then I have absolutely nothing planned. NOTHING!!!!! :bravo::hyper::dance::wahhey: When did you last hear Paul say that? I'll check out the allotment but it will be too wet for any real work. A strange thing happened on my Cervelo yesterday. I unscrewed the valve cap and the core was almost completely unscrewed meaning the tyre instantly deflated. I put the core back in, tightened with an appropriate tool, undid the track pump adaptor and the same thing happened. Weird! That's why I took the Kinesis on what I knew would be a challenging ride.

Has anyone experienced this? One of my buddies suggested using a little PTFE tape around the valve core.

I have outstanding u3a admin which I'll probably look at.

G'day all.
Somebody needs to tell this weather that it's supposed to be sunny.
My haircut that I thought was yesterday is this morning.
Pub lunch later.
Next is to get my car in the garage......the engine warning light is on. I can't walk back nowadays so need to arrange a lift back home.
Have a good day peeps.
