Morning all :hello:

First frost of the season here, but very sunny.
MrsD has to go to the opticians in Minehead at 10am for her cataract post op appointment.
Well do a bit of shopping afterwards, then go to the Star in Watchet for lunch.

I have discovered that the App associated my car allows me to switch the heater/demisters on, from your phone. So, on mornings like this morning, when I go for the weekly shop, at 07:00am, and the car is covered in frost/snow, I switch on the heater/demister remotely when I get our of bed, and, it is all nicely cleared by the time I have got dressed etc. The wonders of Technology.

Oh, I am so envious. I want one of these. NOW!!!!! What a brilliant idea.

Anyone else not received confirmation they will be getting the winter fuel allowance yet? I thought I would have heard by now.
We've both had a letter, £100 each. I imagine it's £200 per household? Mrs P will have to repay hers as she has a state pension and NHS pension. I only have the state pension plus a bit of SERPS so may not have to. I don't really know.

Good morning. Bright. Clear. COLD!!!!! :cold::cold:

It's a treatment day for Mrs P, I have a PT session afterwards and a whole range of minor chores to deal with during the day. Nothing special, just things to do. I might do some housework but doubt it.

I've decided we are having lamb chops, mashed potatoes and ratatouille for tea. I'll do some prep on this when I've had breakfast. Looking out the window it seems porridge would be a good idea. I'll have this with Yeo Valley yoghurt and local honey.

Similar situation here. As I tend to seek the positive in a negative I console myself with the thought that any bric a brac we take to the charity shop will get an extra 20% for the charity.

If we both repay it I'm perfectly happy with that. We are very fortunate, an extra £200 is very nice to have but we don't need it. I would far rather a family with real needs received our £200 than we did. If the simplest way to award the WFA is to give it with one hand and take with the other I'm happy. It always makes me smile a little when the DWP give us a bit and HMRC say, thank you very much, we'll have that! ^_^

I have a crisis. There's no more honey!!!! :ohmy:

Denise, who lives in our village, keeps bees on her allotment which is about 200 yards from my plot and 400 from our house. Whenever a bee lands on our plants we smile, happy to see Denise's little workers doing their job. The honey couldn't be more local and it's absolutely delicious. £8/jar but worth every penny. I shall have to track down Denise later and get some more.
