Been out to M&S to get some food shopping - there are certain things we get from there because it is cheaper and/or much better

While I was out I picked up some leaflets from Age UK advertising the "Install the NHS App" things we do for older people who might be a biy confused or scary of teh technology

and then took them around 5 of the local GPs and pharmacies
Had a very good response from all of them - they seemed to think it was a great idea

Did you ever go to Cornton Vale? 14 years since I left but if it was before that I may have seen you, although I did permanent night shift latterly.

No, this was 30 odd years ago before I moved north. Gartree, Rampton, Hyson green and a few lower security and young offender ones around the east midlands.

A friend of my daughters went for a job interview at Onley prison.

Unfortunately, and this is straight up, he went to Olney which is about 30 miles in the opposite direction.

Suffice to say he never got the job.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I have got a lifetime ban from posting on the jokes section.
I told a joke about a guy released from prison.
Absolutely none racist
None sexist
Nothing.
A person reported it as he thought it might offend anyone who knew anyone who had been in prison.
I asked the mod' if they had actually read the joke and if so what could offend anyone. I never got a reply of any sort.

I have a good joke about someone seeing his Dr. If I said it on here I would be banned for life

Retired bobby I know, nine guy, driving on the M6 today and a woman jumps off a bridge onto the car hes delivering. Hes not hurt, a bit shaken but as an ex copper hes seen it all before. Poor woman sadly deceased

I had a similar experience years ago. Driving up to Newcastle (North east) and the traffic came to a halt. A guy had jumped off a bridge in front of a wagon.
No exaggeration, as we filtered onto the hard shoulder there were bits of him scattered around. I crawled past a piece of his leg.
It was on the news that he was a Bobby and suffering from depression.

Popped up to Northampton today to visit my Step Mother, we had lunch at the Northampton Museum and had a look at their Northampton in 100 objects exhibition which was excellent. It really is a first class museum, well worth a visit.

Being an old Northamptonian I loved the merchandise in the museum shop, my childhood in T Shirts and Tote bags!

One of my riding group drives a spark on the suburban rail network. He says it happens a lot in his line of work.May have happened to him but he is a bit unwilling to elaborate.

It does happen on the road from time to time. Happened to a couple of friends. Had a call on radio 1 and 2 quite a few years back. "Would all drivers of opened top waggons please check the back of your trailer". They'd had several reports of someone jumping from a bridge on the M6 near Holmes Chapel. When they looked under the bridge, no body. That would be a nice surprise for someone.
