I will be having cod, chips and mushy peas. I have yet to decide if I will have bread n butter

I see Stanley Baxter has died aged 99. I presumed he had died years ago.

He was very popular and I knew a lot of people who thought he was funny

But I could never stand him

but for a person in show business at the time I never heard any bad stuff about him - he was just a funny bloke

Lie upon lie upon lie they spout, and especially politicians who simply refuse to answer questions, and instead of answering, just churn out some unrelated mantra.

Can't say more, as ever...

I agree with you but these same people run the country and their decisions affect all of us in our daily lives.

Not being political, but rather procedural.

When theyre asked a question in the house of idiots and trot out some rude nonsense by way of an evasive answer, why doesn't the speaker intervene and order them to just answer the blummen question?

Guy Fawkes was right! (Actually, that'd make a good name for a band!)

Let's put Accy in charge of the government. At least he'd keep us entertained...

It is a "problem" with the HOC system
people can ask question - but the Speaker has no authority to make anyone actually answer it - it is just a matter of honour or something

My team are on the telly tonight but they are crap. 2 - 1 down. After such a promising start they have gone to pot.

Right - just got back from dinner out
It is my wife's son's birthday and we went out with them and the kids and the otehr grandparents for a meal

for some reasons his wife chose a restaurant quite a way from their house
but only 30 minutes from ours

Anyway - restaurant turned out to be lovely and very helpful about my gluten free problems - that manager turned out to be Coeliac and we had a great conversation about what I could eat

I had steak which turned out to be wonderful
actually I orders sirloin but it turned out to be fillet - 3 fillets when we ordered 1 fillet and 2 sirloin butthey were great about it and only charged for what we ordered

In teh end the kids were getting tired and grumpy but all was well (not sure about the trip home - but that's not our problem!)

and we had a nice chat with "the other grandparents" - we we get on OK with so it was nice to catch up

Just remembered - at the meal I found out that teh birthday boy's new job title is now "Theatre Matron"


and I didn;t mention Hattie Jaques once!!!#I asked my wife for an award on the way home - she didn;t laugh!!!

A weekend off from cooking and washing up.Saturday Manchester and a pub meal Sunday church daughter taking father in law out,so we are eating in Headingley,so a nice weekend off.
