Getting old but not past it

Christmas lunch to come soon but I am not happy but our daughter's ex husband coming up later on .
As far as I am concerned, he is not part of the family anymore but daughter says he is coming to see the kids who are 24 and 22 respectively so not exactly young kids.
The trouble is, when he comes, he doesn't know when to go home so if he comes around 7 pm, he will still be here at 11pm. Not an exciting evening to look forward to.

I have 3 visits most nights, especially if I drink lots of water before going to bed.
Santa has been kind to me.
A very nice/good quality window bird feeder.
A smart speaker (Echo Dot).....look forward to using that.
A sit down exercise bike thingy ie a floor sitting one i can use while in the chair.
A book on the history of LFC from Shankly through to Klopp.
A nice wall calendar
AND.......
A box of liquorice allsorts which I am munching on right now.
To think there are some strange people that dont believe he exists

We went to see our Daughter this morning, as I said earlier they are all coming to ours tomorrow, and she gave us our card which contained a photograph of her 12 week scan.
We are going to be Granparents for the first time. It is due at athe start of July. MrsP is ecstatic. 😁😁
Dinner is now on the go and should be ready around 5pm.

Right - normally - i.e. the last 8 years or so - Christmas dinner has been up to me
except teh gravy which is hers
This year she has taken over quite a lot of it
which is rather "difficult" - I keep wanting to do things
and if I do I put things "in the wrong place"
but all is going well - we both have a sense of humour and do not take ourselves too seriously
dinner looks to be going well and will be ready by 4 as planned
(looks at time)
as is traditional
