Good morning all.
A cloudy but cold start to the day here.
A bit of tidying up and the dishwasher needs unloading.
The family are coming over this afternoon. A cold buffet of sorts will be had for lunch. Cold meats, bubble and squeak, pickles, cheeses, salad, dips, crisps etc. Everyone can help themselves to whatever they want.
I'll be out on the bike shortly for a quick wizz around once it gets a bit lighter.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Morning folks :okay: i opened my pressie from my ex employer yesterday and wow! ^_^ loads and loads of chocolate/ a very expensive cheese round,pickles,biscuits/chess set/cycle multi tool and 2 crackers..which had £20 inserted in each! astounding generosity-made my day! ^_^ When im in a better financial position i shall send her a really nice bouquet :okay:
Doing my usual today- gathering seaweed, bit of gardening and a possible spin if there isnt any ice. :okay:

Morning.
Another beautiful albeit cold day.
Stack of washing on(I washed a ton of cycling kit yesterday which seems nuts on Xmas Day but anyway need for today possibly).
Today then is exercise day for sure. I probably should get out on bike as away from tomorrow for a few days so won't get chance but it might be weights.

Good morning all.
Why am I up at this hour ?
I sat up watching the 1st Jaws film last night. Hard to believe it was 50 (that's FIFTY) years ago when it came out. That age old question.....where have all those years gone!!!
Its Boxing Day......is that supposed to mean anything ie are we supposed to do something special/different ?
Enjoy your day peeps.
Two things to note:-
1. You swap places with your servants
2. The tidying up of the mess starts today. Everything gets boxed up, hence Boxing Day. No plastic rubbish bags back then.

Get a move on, especially as you've traded places with your servants.

I think the true meaning of Boxing Day is that low paid workers, servants etc. used to visit employers, places they deliver a service to and so on to collect their Christmas "box." This would be a tip of some sort, perhaps money etc.

At least this is what my mother told me many years ago.

Bin men came today, as they normally do on a Friday,

Being sensible I checked the carncil website to confirm this, and my bin went out late last night. Unfortunately about 80% of my neighbours seem to have assumed they wouldn't come on a bank holiday.

I’ve got the bin collections on my Google Calendar, all very modern!

Surprises me, working boxing day. Our blue ((recycling) bin which should have been Thursday was brought forward a day .

That is my understanding too.
