I have a question for the assembled masses

my wife bought me an automatic watch for Christmas
you can see the weights through a glass panel at the back
so - basically it uses my movements to wind itself up rather than using e.g. a battery

and no - THAT is not what I am asking - Honestly - I know how SOME of you think!!!

so the question is
as my movement is being used to stored in teh spring on my watch
so the energy from the food I eat is being used up by the watch

As a Scientist (I have the degree certificate to prove it!!!) energy is energy and if it is used up to power the watch it the food it comes from can't be stored as fat

does this mean I can afford to have more cake at cafe stops and not gain weight??

but when the bangs and flashes started she normally just came over and looked quizzically at me and as I was not worried she went off to doze somewhere

I think this is something a lot of dog owners get wrong and rather than, like you, just carry on as normal and ignore the fireworks they baby the dogs and cuddle them, etc and the dogs then think there is something to be afraid of.

Just seen a cartoon about New Year Resolutions

reminds me a bloke I used to work with

People were always asking him what resolution he is making this year

He always did the same thing
His resolution was to stop drinking
Every New Year morning he took a can of beer and put it on the table
Then at 6 p.m. he ceremoniously opened it and drank it

thus disposing of the resolution at the first decent opportunity so he can then forget about them for another year

One way to find out.
Set the time accurately then scoff double fish and chips followed by 3 large 99nr ice creams........ then check if the watch is still spot on.
If its now, say 30 seconds fast then you know it has absorbed your energy.

I am also a scientist, qualified to U.L.C.I. level.

Cleaned both bathrooms, braved the cold and gave my bike a well needed deep clean.

Now finally sat down with a cup of tea and a KitKat.
