Well looking out everything is white

but there is a clear space over the road where their son came over last night when it was snowing
and as it is still clear then it has not snowed overnight

but Wundermap says the local weather station are showing -5 and -6

which is damn cold for here!

looks like a ride is still out
especially as the canal boat cafe is stuck in the marina as the water is frozen!!

Bit nippy here but still no sign of snow.
MrsD has a hair appointment this morning and I've got a few parcels to post.
Off to Minehead afterwards for some  shopping lunch

We got those sort of temperatures up here, there'd be complaints it were too warm

Good (nearly) afternoon.
I have no pattern or logic to my sleep pattern. Some nights it's 'fitful' while others, like last night, I am dead to the world.
Like most others (excluding that smug Aussie) it's very cold here.
Re' boiling water on the bird bath.......I saw my grandson doing that earlier. Ours is plastic. I was thinking, if it doesn't shatter the water will be re-frozen very quickly.

The outside water tap is frozen but the sun is shining so will fill the tank later.

Re defrosting/de icing your car.
For many years mine was garaged so it was never a problem.
For various reasons I have to leave it out now..I was planning an Aldi dash tomorrow and have no idea how best to de ice things. Not even sure if I have any spray on stuff. I will have to have a search.

You have answered 1 question but here's another.
If you (and your boat) are eg 20 miles from the nearest town and you have a proper mechanical problem, what do you do for help ?

@Dave7 luke warm water. I shudder every time Mrs P boils the kettle and marches out to defrost hers. I sometimes leave the engine to run for 5 - 6 minutes. I did this morning.

Currently on a garden mooring. There is an 'AA' type service for boats though and most boaters have to be hands on for fixing the odd thing that crops up. Generally as with so many things is to keep things in good order and you get less grief.

If I did that here it would get nicked .
