Morning.
Grey and overcast but not actually raining. No doubt will shortly.
Not sure on plans, I cleaned and polished the oak wood floor in hall the other day so might get onto dining room today as it's looks like it needs some attention. I do need to do some large scale redecorating but getting starting is the hard bit as it's my least favourite bit of DIY.

Good morning. 🌧️🌧️🌧️ and forecast till Tuesday. Never mind on Wednesday we have a feels like -2⁰ forecast. Feckin weather........I'm a cyclist. Don't they understand???

Off to the gym in an hour or so. Before that I need to prepare a few notes for tomorrow's IT induction, have breakfast and pop up to the club to update the card payment machine. Another busy day.

It's the u3a film club that I organise today. We're watching "The Good Liar" starring Helen Mirren and Ian McKellen.

Worried about people talking about "Th e Lurgy"

I picked the youngest and his cousin up from school yeaterday and when I got there his teacher said he was not well

She said the first sign was he started to look lethargic and didn;t want to move
which is downright weird for him - he generally wants to run everywhere!

anyway - just before home time he started throwing up!!
Fortunately he did throw up in the car on the way home

but did when we got there - luckily they have wood floors so it was just a case of mopping it up with a wad of kitchen roll

His Mum arrived shortly after that so we left her to it - and the other 2 kids
to be fair to the cousin he was being great and even got some teddies to make the little one feel better
The cousin gets a lot of stick but when we have him - which is not much - he always behaves - I suspect the oldest has scared him with tales of what happens if you annoy "Grand and Pops"

Anyway - we are just hoping we don;t get it - kids get over things better than "people who have lived a bit longer"

Good morning Kev (and others)
That lurgy sounds nasty. Look, im sure you are a nice, friendly bloke but please keep it down there.
I think I'm at the pub lunchtime. Apart from that, nowt.
Anyone doing the rspb garden watch? I am. I think my hour will be 09.30-10.30 tomorrow. My Bro lives on the Wirral and will also get involved. He gets lots of Gold Finches whereas we get lots of Long Tail Tits.
Come on Mo, it's getting late for you

Thank you for the kind words Dave. We've been watching " Winter Watch ", wonderful to see. Mrs Tkk looked up from her book yesterday and said " all the birds have just flown off " I looked out of the window and saw a juvenile looking raptor, possibly a sparrowhawk perched on our fence 😎

Well I donned full waterproofs and braved it. While it was nice to get some fresh air and stretch the legs, it was far from pleasant. Still battering down and at least another inch forecast for today and tomorrow is not much better.

Just come back from the Doc.

I wanted to chase up a "thing" that I should have had but had not been told about until not having it stopped something else happening and the first thins still has not happened
and, for some reason, my wife doesn;t want me falling over dead!

anyway - so I went to the doctor's to see if they had some information - like the name of the doctor who recommended the test and what the damn test is

so I went down there and spoke to a lady on reception
I told her that is was all due to a stroke I had last January
but she looked for ages and just could NOT find any record of any problem last January
just not there

she checked if was January last year and i confirmed it
she looked again and said
"I just can't find any record of anything in January 2024"

I just said "2025?"

she dropped her head into her hands and apologised

I reckon that people on this thread can sympathise

I told her I generally don;t start getting it right every time until about July!

I've just had a decorator around to price some work. The decorator i used for years has disappeared somewhere.
This guy was LOUD but I liked the way he came across and though I've not had the price yet am pretty sure I will go with him.
@PaulSB he is from Blackburn and a lifelong Rovers fan...... does that mean I can or can't trust him?
