Morning all.
BBC weather promised a dry, bright day. Its now changed to drizzle all day.
Had a good sleep with 9 1/2 hours and only one pee break.
A Q day ahead for me.

Good morning. Damp and murky. Coffee and breakfast consumed. CC perused. Shortly I'm heading to the gym and when I get home the day's chores begin.

#2 son is getting a new bed delivered tomorrow. I have to go to his house to dismantle the old one etc. Mrs P has requested some rather complex swapping around of mattresses. I haven't fully grasped this and will work exactly as requested......and probably still get it wrong.

Mrs P came downstairs 20 minutes ago. Fairly rapidly. I must say. "What are you doing?" she demanded.

I forget to tell her I bought an audible bike alarm. I was setting it up, testing sensitivity levels..........I suspect it was heard in Yorkshire!!! 😱🤣🤣 Incredibly loud.

Wet all day here. Pub lunch later with all the IOW clan along (even the two we rarely see), so that should be nice 👍
Cracking evening with two old friends last night, in what claims to be the oldest pub on the Island 🤷‍♂️
Where they also have a pub animal: not a dog, or cat….but a tortoise 😜
He was sleeping by the fire all evening, had one foot out to begin with 🤪
Biggest fish & chips I’ve had in a long time: defeated me, which is rare: I’m not usually a quitter 🤣

Wet and windy walk done. I like to get out at least once unless it is actually too dangerous, but no real excuse not to go just for rain.

Scrambled egg and cheese just finished and Molly was sitting watching and reminding me to leave her a bit. She loves it and is still licking the plate.

Which alarm did you get?

This one. It's genuinely earsplitting. I think anyone attempting to move and run off with my bike would get a real shock - enough to give me time to get out of the cafe as we're rarely more than 30-40 feet from the bikes. The real security issue is that although we happily think the bikes are within eyesight the truth is we're so busy nattering no one looks out of the window.

I'll have to go somewhere private to check the sensitivity settings. I can't submit Mrs P and the neighbours to this noise for long!!!! 🤣

It's a bit "plasticy" but I can live with that.

Does it come with the remote control to help you find your bike, in amongst the hundred other bikes as pictured in the advert?

Still think a Kranks Landmine or Door Alarm would have been better.

I have blocked local FaceBook group

the end of the group name is "and sometimes politcal LOL" - which sounds a bit didgy but initially it did have some information about local things

but recently a lot of stuff has been posted saying how amazingly wonderful Trump is
and how the PM is eveil and EVERYONE wants him out
and how Reform would sort the country out
and all that

anyway - I posted a few facts - nothing extreme - just a link explaining a few things they seemed to not understand and no comments - just links to facts

Well - turns out that I another blooming (not the word he used) English Teacher and how he hates all English teachers and they should not teach English at school
yes - it didn;t make any sense
and it was half a screen long with no capital or any punctuation of any kind

I replied saying that I was just posting facts and anyone was welcome to post facts showing was wrong if they want

so apparently I am a leftie and - based on an exact interpretation of the words he used - have an awful lot of sex - or something
and if anyone say that again they will be banned forever!!!

I checked - turns out he is based in the USA and if the admin for a group about Widnes


anyway - enough of that - blocked the whole group
he will probably think that is a success

I’d have stayed in to gently correct and take the mick….my view being that if sane and sensible people do nothing, we will end up with trump-lite over here too 😳
I’m actually on Truth Social. Drop in perhaps once a week to let off steam at the mango Mussolini, then leave. Obvs has no real impact, but makes me feel I am doing something good 🤣
