A win for me!

Long story short, leak in our kitchen has damaged unit. New build house but just out of 2 yesr warranty period, but thats irrelevant as have statutory rights.

Id given the builder until Friday to undertake to replace the damaged unit else id escalate the matter to small claims court. Just to make the point I sent them the completed forms and the plumbers report.

And today have checked my emails and they've folded, and are now going to replace the unit after all.

Don't play poker against me, challenge me to a duel, or try and bully me, because you will lose.

May I swear on here.....please.
bloody bloody bloody bloody whatsits :cursing:.
Got a new electric wall heater from Screwfix. I was going to get the same one from elsewhere but found Screwfix does them 30 quid cheaper.
It has a separate bow fronted glass panel which was stupidly difficult to fit.
Anyway, it took my Mr Fixit 90 minutes to get it out of the box, assemble it and fix it to the wall.
It doesn't work.
The flame effect works and is very nice.....but no heat, at all. Not a sign. No fan and no heat.
They have a good return policy which is good. But they are not in stock so..........
A. I have to pay Mr Fixit
B. No fire for 36 hours
C. I have to b*gger about repacking it, returning it, waiting for a replacement, collect it then hoping my guy can do it quickly.
Hence my plural bloodied grrrhhh.

I would not bother about repacking it if it is a pain - just do what you can

Plus maybe talk to them about paying Mr Fixit's time for fixing something that did not work - you can only ask!

BTW - if you think he is good - does he cover Widnes??
we might need some things doing at some point!

Its srewfix. They are cheap and good but as a massive company I have no chance of compensation.
re "is he good".....he is a very good, trustworthy guy. I have dealt with him for many years and I dont even ask him for a price now (but that's just me).
Widnes is not far away but (i imagine) it would have to be at least a full day's work.

Going to pick up a ride on mower tomorrow morning.
Been meaning to buy one for some time and this one's come up locally at the right price. Should make life easier once the grass starts shooting up.

Be aware there are two different Coop cards in England. This is because there are two different Coop companies. Don't ask. I don't know.

I pass a new Coop regularly and have been using it. My card has never worked. I asked the girl one day and she told me that's the wrong card for here. I looked at her and she explained there are in fact two different Coops. I haven't got round to learning more.

We have two Coops next door to each other in Watchet; a 'normal' one and a 'Radstock' Coop - very confusing.
