Arrived yesterday by car, just missed Storm Kristin by 24 hours. Still as windy as heck though and 21C is just a dream…

Just read an article by Adrian Chiles
yes - I know - but it was about Runcorn and how wonderful it is so I though I better see what he said
turns out that he crossed The Bridge (we have 3 but apparently he doesn;t know this) and dropped his daughter off at the train station
then left - he didn;t say how - but if he went across the bridge he would have to return that way to get back to where he came from
and The Bridge is right next to the station
so he basically wrote an article saying how great Runcorn is based on one bridge and a train station
might as well harp on about London based on Euston Station and the nearest McDonalds!

MorningYes, to my very limited knowledge the Algarve can be hit & miss at this time of year whereas the Canaries have a better chance.
The saga of Screwfix.
I phone head office this morning and the best they offer is......they will collect the damaged one (one vehicle) and deliver a replacement (a different vehicle) but can't do it till tomorrow.
They won't offer any financial compensation. They say I should check everything is OK BEFORE I get a contractor in
.....I said "and how do I check it's working without the contractor wiring it in and wall mounting it"??

Just got an email from Virgin Media
apparently my "specila promotional discount" is ending soon
and after that the amount I pay per month goes from £74 a month - over £200 a month
i.e. an increase of nearly 300% (can;t be bothered to check the exact percentage!)
so - apparently Sky have a stall in Warrington - looks like a trip to Golden Square in on the cards!
Looking on the Virgin website - I could get a similar deal to the one I have for about £60 - plus a bit for a speed upgrade
Basically they are just trying to rip people off if they are not in a position to faff about - i.e. vulnerable people

When my family moved in and I moved into the flat I phoned Virgin (my current supplier) and told them I was leaving.
They.........
Put a separate box thingy in the flat
Gave me a bigger package (ooh erhh matron)
And reduced my cost by (i think) £20+.
Worth phoning that nice chap x 1000s of miles away in India/Pakistan.
