I waved my grandson off at 05.30. He is about 26 **. He did a 2 month tour of Asia (Thailand etc) and few years ago.
During the tour he struck up a friendship with a guy from America and that guy is now touring Europe. Grandson is going down to London to meet up with him. A different world to my youth were North Wales was an exotic holiday.
**Sue used to mentally log all birthdays and years etc.....I am hopeless at it.

Looks like rain all day here 🙄
Daughter home….dropping her at a pals for lunch whilst we mosey about Melton, then we are all off for some comedy music in town tonight. A venue we’ve not been to before (the Soundhouse). We have suitably low expectations, but are also meeting some pals so it should be fun 🤣

The Comedy Festival began last Monday: loads to see….dozens every day in a huge number of venues. We have about 10 things booked. Arthur Smith cancelled for Sunday though - mobility issue 😳
Ian Stone last Thurs - a very funny fella, look out if he puts a show on near you 👍
What is it the old Readers Digest used to say? “Comedy: the best medicine” - good advice I have followed since reading my parents in the 70s 🤣

Barnet,
Good morning all.
Guess what, ------‐----it's raining. :rain:
The cats went out, and very soon came back in again.
I'll pop up to the market later for some fruit and go to the butcher for a large chicken.
Then I think it will be armchair sports watching for the rest of the day. There are two rugby matches, plus the winter Olympics.

PUSH NOTIFICATION !!!
I keep getting CC requests for me to OK it.
What is it ?
Should I OK it ?

Oh, these are PIA. Usually after signing out for some reason and later signing back in CC will see you as a new user. One then gets asked if one wants "push notifications." There's an option for never or something similar. Choose that. It's something that in an utterly irrational way wildly irritates me! Oh, and you choose the never type option..........and next time it will friggin' ask again! GRRRRRRRR

Well - yesterday the Met Office was saying there would be a gap in the rain for a few hours

which sounded like a bike ride to me

but it seems that this is not to be

I do have to go out as SWMBO is running out of "vape juice"

nasty habit - but it is better than when she was smoking!

but the stuff she likes come from one of 2 shops
the one near where she used to live always has it in - but charges twice the price of the one near here
bu tthe one near here has to order it - and gets it in at a variable time from "later today" to "some time next week"

so I better get there and see how it goes this time

Good morning, the forecast was diabolical and the weather is currently "yeah, I'll go for a ride" type weather. Sadly we ditched the ride plans yesterday in favour of Sunday. Checked my calendar this morning and we're going to #1 son's for lunch tomorrow. I guess that's a double cock up. The Met Office have been dreadful with the forecast since the beginning of the year. Wildly inaccurate for our area. Often we can't make ride decisions till the morning.

Problems. Problems. I can't decide what to have for breakfast. Next, I went to look in the washing machine, there's washing in there. How long has it been there? Has it been washed? I've put the machine on. Things got even worse. Can you imagine? The Guardian does a good food magazine, Feast. I like to find inspiration in it for tea. I sat down with coffee and flicked through. A recipe has caught my eye "Dutch baby with pears and dark chocolate sauce." Hmmmmm...........the final instruction worries me a little "To serve, spoon the pears into the Dutch baby, drizzle over the chocolate-tahini sauce and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds"

Where, on a Saturday, am I going to find a Dutch baby? Can I substitute another pale skinned child? Can I kidnap a random one from outside Tesco? It's a problem.
