Interesting, we run the washing machine and dishwasher on an overnight cycle but our cheap rate finishes at 05:30. I see that Octopus do an " Economy 7 " type tariff and it says you only need a Smart meter not one of the dedicated split meters that they used to use. Might be better for us once things settle down and the 1st April tariff changes take effect.

Octopus + Smart meter here, fixed until October.
Presently, Night rate finishes @ 07:30. In a couple of weeks, when the clocks go forward, it'll be cheaper until 08:30.
I can't remember what time it starts; probably midnightish.

Do you have storage heaters, and do you know the tariff name? It's just that it's something that might suit our usage pattern better than our current tariff.

Economy 10 is handy if your supplier offers it. You get 3 times when it comes on to the cheaper rate. Not that it helps me much running storage heaters. They are still ridiculously expensive to run.

About 20 minutes ago I remembered that when I reheated my curry in the microwave yesterday I forgot to cover it.
Bl**dy hell, its gets everywhere. There was more on the inside of the microwave than there was on the plate.
All cleaned up now..... I doubt I will ever make that mistake again.

Google tells me is probably the viscosity of the sauce which can trap air or ingredients which hold water.
My sauce was quite thick AND I used frozen mushrooms** which I know hold lots of water.
**I bought frozen on a whim.....never again. When I fried them the almost disappeared and I had to drain the excess water away.

Good morning from a gloriously sunny Lancashire though there is a chilly breeze blowing. #3 is here and Mrs P has just taken her for a wander round the garden. Granddad is having a sit down.

My car is in for its MOT 🤞 and that is about all folks. Catch you later.
