I'm home. We changed destination and went to Crosby Coffee** at Hightown near Formby. Wow, it's posh round there.

I know you've all been waiting for today's headline news. Did Paul solve his wardrobe dilemma? Yes, almost. Bibs, leg warmers, long sleeve jersey and gilet. That was fine until we set off from the cafe. Decidedly chilly. Fortunately I'd taken a lightweight rain jacket/wind blocker.

One of my buddies is audax training, he started riding at 5.00am today, the other just returned from four weeks in Spain. We took it easy for a decent 74 miles.

** as opposed to Crosby Coffee at Crosby. I know it's complicated.

day today and nothing else demanding my attention after lunch

including my wife

so I went for a ride

lovely to go round my normal ride in nice weather and on dry canal paths

about half way round I stopped for a drink and a woman on a "probably an ebike" stopped and asked me if she could get to Runcorn going along the canal

I told her that was where I had come from and gave her directions for the little twiddly bit on roads

turns out she had to get back in time for when the kids got home

I hope she made it - and I hope she rides a fair bit because she would have to get a move on!

she must have come at least most of my normal ride at a minimum
because that is almost exactly half way round my normal ride
which takes just under 2 hours (more if the Dinky Cafe Boat is operating!)
and it was just before 3 p.m.!!

Oh - on my way out for a ride I stopped to chat to the bloke opposite - he was washing his car

He said they went for a walk yesterday
Walked to the Welly
the went onto the Four Topped Oak
Then into the Unicorn
Then to the Dandelion

then back home via the Welly again - he thinks - he was a bit unsure where he was by then!!!


Sounds like a decent walk to me!!!

Monday; Gardening
Tuesday;Trip to Cambridge to have a check up on the laser eye treatment, bit of mooching in the city then home.
Wednesday;Gardening in the morning then a short ride to see the Aged Aunt (it's her 90th soon) and a couple of my cousins.

Well, today went well. A bit of gardening this morning followed by a meeting of the escape committee and then home for some savoury cheese on toast topped eith tomatoes and grilled smoked streaky bacon.

Nah, not had ours yet either. I wonder if I can inform them that ill pay my council tax within 26 weeks, seeing as thats what they do with potholes.

May I ask what the eye treatment is ? I have glaucoma and told to expect laser treatment. I have to see the boss man in about 8 weeks.
