Well, what a morning I've had.
I went to that open meeting at the local pub. Met some nice people.
Free tea/coffee and preserves. Free bingo and GUESS WHAT.......I won, TWICE... £25.00  .
Next I went to the tip and got rid of lots of junk. WoW it was busy.
Next I took the carpet pieces to be made into runners. 2 were approx 1mtr x 0.5 mtr and 2 very small ones for when I lower the treadmill..........she will cut to size and edge them, all for £30.00. I'm happy with that.

I bought some of these high density rubber pads for my treadmill from Amazon. About 5" square and 1/2" thick:

An upside and downside to retirement... the visit to a local cafe..
Im decorating again (phase 3 of the hall stairs and landing, gloss doors, woodwork and paint walls, its a big job done in manageable bits)
So im hungry, off to the cafe to get a breakfast...to be confronted by a major amount of fellow retirees ordering their frappe latte with oatmilk or whatever..and they take a lot of time and effort to prepare. It's always bugged me, I am by my own admission impatient, I like to get on, get done, I always find myself stuck behind people ordering time consuming beverages.
It's not a good thing im that way, I know,...

Morning walk followed by lunch with Mrs Tkk and daughter at 29029. Fixed lunch menu was perfect, and needed as the weather has turned so back to my wooly hat ( Edinburgh Cycling Cooperative) knitted beanie. Sitting in front of the flame effect stove as although it's not putting out any heat the flickering " flames " have the effect of making the room feel warmer.

There is a garage mechanic at the back of our house and never thought about contacting him before until today. I called round and the chap is 63 years old, an old school mechanic , so I booked my car for a service with him: £120 all included which is at least £90 cheaper that the dealer and much closer to me . I am happy with that.

I get very impatient with old people. They dither over menus, they dither over buffets, can't make there mind up whether to have cold meats or cheeses, should they have salad with or without tomatoes or whatever. They get in the way, have no spacial awareness of who is around them block the ailes and generally hold everyone up.
But we can't say anything as we have to be tolerant.

You forgot “and they insist on rooting through the whole shelf for the packet with the longest date/leanest meat/whatever other virtue they require of their purchase” 😡

...and then their purse figuring out how to get the correct amount of money to pay, in coins, after they took a handful out of their savings jar this morning.

Another thing that gets me going, and this is not just about old people, but those who are waiting at a bus stop. The bus arrives and then they start rooting around in their bags or pockets for the bus pass or card to pay the fare when they step onto the bus.
