Have you tried an app called Merlin?
It identifys birds from their calls that are around the location you are in.

Yep, that's what I use šŸ‘

I don’t know how true this is, but, we were told that current diagnosis techniques cannot differentiate between dementia and Alzheimer’s.

The tests to describe do sound very similar to those Mrs @BoldonLad did, before diagnoses.

Vascular dementia is caused by the small blood vessels in the brain closing up and stopping the blood flow to the brain.
Alzheimers is a lack of proteins that keep the brain functioning on a daily basis.
The end result is more or less the same but from a different cause.
My Father suffered from Vascular dementia until his death aged 92.
There are detailed tests that can determine which is which.

My Sis i law (early 70s) has been diagnosed with "early-onset- dimentia" . She is not clear if that means its in the early stages or its happened earlier in life than is normal.

Good morning all. A grey start to the day here. Rain is forecast for later.
I'm going to give the carpets in the hall and front room a quick going over with the carpet cleaner, it is a while since I did them last and there are a few stains/spills on them that need addressing.
@Exlaser2 if your meds are making your ankles swell you should discuss with your doctor about changing the meds. Is it Amliopidine you're on? Swollen ankles are a known side effect from this drug.

Cheers for the heads up but having a wife who has been dispensing technician in a pharmacy for over 35 years means I tend to be up to date with the side effects of my meds . It’s too easy to get paranoid. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜€
I started on rampril nearly 20 years ago , ended up on the max dose, it then gave me a kennel cough šŸ˜‚. So they reduced the dose and I started on amliopidine as well and that gave me gum problems and swollen ankles . Doctor then swapped it out for felodopine which stopped the gum problems and reduced the ankle problems . I have talked the doctor about it and we decided I would stay on it , is it’s only a minor side effect, unless it’s gets worse. Fingers crossed it has so far .

Bonjour.
Apparently in New Zealand, when you are 80 , you must pass another driving test which involves various questions such as: count backwards from 100 in sevens, name as many animals as you can in minute, remember a name and address and so on.
I believe this is a Alzaimer test in the UK for that.

100 backwards in 7s. I cant do that and im only 79.
