Morning all. Heading back to Dorset today. A splendid stay in Brum, yesterday we did a leisurely stroll along the canal, chatted to a few lock workers and admired the small green spaces alongside the towpath. Had to wait for a pair of geese with their goslings who had parked themselves smack in the middle of the towpath. Popped into the concert hall to grab a coffee and ended up attending a lunchtime concert with two very talented musicians, Thomas Trotter and Roger Owens. Not what we had planned but a wonderful piece of serendipity 😎
The evening saw us in the Wellington pub for a couple of beers and a really impressive cheese and onion " bap " with a huge wedge of cheese and an equally impressive slice of spanish onion. Woke in the night with heartburn but it was worth it 😁

Mornng.
Grey and wet, lovely.
Got back late yesterday so no chance for weights so that's plan for later.
Usual chores but first coffee.
Oh and order a new chain for bike as old one shot after 1200 miles which is very odd.

Morning

Don;t think I even looked on here yesterday!!!

The car was booked in for a service and MOT so had to drive up there and walk back first thing

Then go and get it mid afternoon
Which was a bit worrying as my breathing is rather carp since a cold a few days ago
I seem to wlk or ride for a bit then the oxygen I am getting in just doesn;t replace the stuff I have used
I managed it by walking much slower and stopping a few times but it is not nice!!!

not sure what I am doing today - some thing need doing but we shall see!

Morning folks :okay: im very pleased that my asthma med 'symbicort' is working, a week ago i had to stop on a hill as i was gasping for air  now i can romp up the same hill and even accelerated when a van appeared behind me
Today i shall be putting up a taller fence on my front garden, the previous low fence was more of a boundary marker which 'said' - this is a garden please be considerate....consideration seems to be in short supply on a council estate.....

Seems to be in short supply in general in this country now!

Chilly walk done. Thankfully the sun is out now and it was already starting to warm up a bit when I was heading home. Woman I know was heading out on her bike in shorts! She was cycling through to Comrie and meeting up with another couple and was going to run for a few miles with them and then cycle back home. She said she had a duathlon coming up shortly. She puts me to shame and isn't all that much younger than me.

I have managed one ride in short so far this year

not looking that that will increase in the near future!!!

Just had another letter from the bbc licensing agents,
it was 4 days early as I usually get it on the 18th of the month
can't tell you what was inside as it went in the shredder

Re the TV licence. I, personally, do watch TV. I particularly enjoy the sport, nature progs and certain other things eg occasional good film...... .. so for me I dont begrudge the licence fee. What does annoy me is that Sky have the sport all wrapped up and I have to pay them a lot to see it. TBF they do a good job but im having to pay for the complete bundle when I only watch 2 or 3 different sports.

Imagine going to the shop and asking for a loaf of bread,
but you can't have the bread unless you buy butter......
Thats what your doing, the shop woudn't get away with it
but the BBC can !

Sky are even worse.
But I weigh up eg what it would cost to go to a prem league match now (£40-50) and I watch maybe 8 games per month.
I got my monies worth watching ManU get beaten by Leeds last night.

That annoys me as well
We only use Sky Sports for Formula 1 and I reckon they do a damn good job with it

but I also reckon that a lot of what I pay goes to broadcasting Premier League which we never watch

Last time I renewed the TV stuff I found that I could have a deal that only included the F1
BUT it was exactly the same price as the whole thing

which is beyond crazy!!
