I have just been through a weird thing

over the last week of so I have reported a couple of flytiping incidents

One was an old paddling pool dumped by the Bridgewater canal
Second was an old small wheeled motorbike that was dumped and burned out on the path that goes behind out house many months ago
I have been meaning to report the motorbike for ages and just never got round to it
but I did a few days ago - some time last week

anyway - just now I got an email from the counsel saying that the paddling pool incident has been investigated and that land is not owned or managed by them so sod off - slightly different phrasing but that's the attitude

I was just typing a suitable reply to that
and the phone rang with a nice lady called Jane from the counsel who was trying to locate the motorbike so it could be sorted out

poor lady doesn;t know the area and could not work out where to send the crew to
We had a long discussion about how to locate it on Google Maps but she didn;t know about Satellite view or
well - pretty much anything
I suggested that I send her a What3Words location which she seemed to know about

weird that I reported 2 things last week and got a response for both within! a few minutes!!!

Imagine going to the shop and asking for a loaf of bread,
but you can't have the bread unless you buy butter......
Thats what your doing, the shop woudn't get away with it
but the BBC can !

More akin to being forced to buy butter when you have no intention of buying bread.

May I ask, did you use “fix my street” to report fly tipping? I was under the impression that it passed accurate location to Council?

No you don't.
You get the news, documentary, sports, dramas, the radio various other programmes for the one price. You can choose what to watch.
There is other platforms you can watch, but a lot of it is American crap.
If the BBC disappears because people like you don't want to pay, the amount of rubbish available will be considerably worse than what is is now.

I have in the past - normally I use it if I am unsure which authority to report it to

Also some round here don;t link to it so you have to do it by their own website

But in any case I think it works by general area and won;t report things based on the actual owner just the local counsel - but I could be wrong there

Well I hope you enjoy your TV, but your also paying for, it's got to be paid for and it's out of your licence fee :-
The corporation sent 36 million letters in the financial year 2022 to 2023, rising to 40.7m from 2023 to 2024, representing a 13pc.

I regard the licence fee as being good value for a good product

a lot of the stuff on there is way better than similar stuff elsewhere
OK you can criticise it for things - and a lot fo them are valid

but in my view it does what it does well - and it being there means that ITV and Channel 4 are encouraged to keep up with them

Fun afternoon..
Parking in the village to pick grandson up from school is horrendous so I left the car away from it and walked a circuitous 4 mile route with Bonnie the Bischon, met him in a nearby park where a lot of the kids go to run off excess energy after school for half an hour before walking ¾ miles back to the car. Stopped off at Greggs for a snack and a coffee before taking him home.
