I just heard the old Monkeys song on the radio.....hey hey we're the Monkeys.
One of the lines is "we're the young generation and we dont Monkeys around". YOUNG !!!.....3 out of the 4 are dead now.
Very scary.

Judging by the number of flared trousers I see youngsters wearing, I can`t help but think that I have slept walk into an episode of Scooby Doo. The same era as the Monkeys, I never missed an episode ! At least with cartoons, they are still alive.

Good morning. The forecast was rain, rain, rain and we have sun, sun, sun. It's a day off, nothing that can be reasonably done as our Californian friend leaves this evening. Cycling, allotment etc are clearly off the agenda. Mrs P and friend are heading into town shortly and I might pop up to the garage, stroke and polish my new bike, get the Kinesis out and give her a much needed TLC before the spring set up for gravel. I'm in the great position now that I can leave all bikes set up 365 for their purpose. The Kinesis will be for gravel, the Cervelo C3 dry and damp winter, the Caledonia whenever it's summer bike weather. If it's a really bad winter's day I'll ride the Kinesis and accept gravel tyres on tarmac.

Right - back from seeing a client at Age UK

I do wonder about the people who design the NHS App and all that
It was all supposed to be "everything you need to know in one place"

and the hospitals never seemed to be onboard so a lot of stuff neverr got on there
so you just see the letter from the hospital saying " everything is fine" and not the actual test results

and now a lot of GP surgeries are backing out from the system in some ways so people have to use the GP website for some things

they don;t seem to understand that not everyone who use the NHS can use a computer like a 30 year old who has been using computers and App most of his/her life

Some older people have never really used the things and they start to "get confused easily" for whatever reasons
and they seem to get forgotten

SO then a charity comes along and wants to help and we get told

naff all

One of the issues is legacy standards that aren't integrated, at least 9 iirc. There have been attempts to combine them into a " standard " standard, which brings to mine the XKCD cartoon.

Yup Windows is another example - Dos and then Windows was never the best system
it was just promoted and marketed far far better than any other

Afternoon folks soggy old day in Brora so havent been up to much, wandered into town for shopping and charity shop and as always i look over the river bridge for an otter or anything interesting. There was! A seal directly below about 20ft away and what was peculiar it was upside down! it stayed like that for a minute or so and seemed to be enjoying the river flow and being inverted, who knows?
Made some coleslaw and will have that later with a chilli n cheese omelette and new potatoes with loads of butter, pepper n salt.

Just had my eye test. A very slight deterioration not worth getting another pair of horn rims.

Same here today.
Eye health is fine, the start of cataracts in both eyes, but no worse than two years ago, and the prescription has changed by one point in both eyes so I'm not going to bother with new lenses probably until the next check up in two years, unless this deteriorates beforehand.
