Just had a proper thunderstorm, with lightning. Went as black as night. Only lasted about 20 mins though.

I got a key cut as a spare for our new back door lock that I changed yesterday..
It doesn't work. I'll be walking down to the ironmongers tomorrow for a replacement 🔑

We had a few showers down here but no thunder. It is a bit breezy though.

Yup Windows is another example - Dos and then Windows was never the best system
it was just promoted and marketed far far better than any other

Quite. IMHO, one of the big reasons was IBM PC, which used what was effectively DOS (from memory, it was called PC-DOS). There used to be a saying ( legacy of the mainframe days) "no-one ever got fired for buying IBM".

Right - back from seeing a client at Age UK

I do wonder about the people who design the NHS App and all that
It was all supposed to be "everything you need to know in one place"

and the hospitals never seemed to be onboard so a lot of stuff neverr got on there
so you just see the letter from the hospital saying " everything is fine" and not the actual test results

and now a lot of GP surgeries are backing out from the system in some ways so people have to use the GP website for some things

they don;t seem to understand that not everyone who use the NHS can use a computer like a 30 year old who has been using computers and App most of his/her life

Some older people have never really used the things and they start to "get confused easily" for whatever reasons
and they seem to get forgotten

SO then a charity comes along and wants to help and we get told

Agreed. I have commented on the short comings of the NHS App and its lack of support, in the past. Sadly, there is little sign of things improving.

A dry day ahead and its a bit warmer.
Main job this morning is to strip, wash and dry the bedding .
I will get a walk in at some stage but my cleaner will be here 12.30-14.30......a really awkward time but she has to work around young children's school times.

Another grey day in Dorset. Decorator popped round yesterday to look at the main bedroom which needs a freshen up. Booked in for the last week in May, Mrs tkk is pondering a very pale green as it's restful and a match for the curtains. Decorator said pick any colour from any manufacturer and the magic machine at Tikkurila will match it exactly.
In other news, new nestboxes should arrive today and then hopefully there'll be a bit more variety than the usual Doves and Gulls 🤞

She had her first experience of the beach yesterday.

Good morning. Another sunny start to the day. Slept better last night after an absolutely crap night on Tuesday when I lay awake worrying..........about the stupidest, most inconsequential things one can imagine. Didn't happen last night. It's a bit like AirBnB in this house today. Our Californian friend left last night and Mrs P's brother and niece check in this afternoon; washing to do, beds to change, ironing needs doing, general housework and a quick shop. I'm not sure how Mrs P feels about the next lot of visitors. Her brother is hard work, he's been home once for his father's funeral in the past 25 or more years since emigrating. Within ten days of learning of Mrs P's diagnosis he announced he would be visiting the UK for a week and coming to see us. I am expecting a diatribe about the UK at some point................from someone who hasn't lived here for 25+ years!

Onwards..............we are having Boeuf Bourguignon for tea, I made this on Sunday and froze it. At least I hope I froze it because a quick rummage in the freezer last night and I couldn't find it!!!
